Sorry there haven't been any issues lately. I recently had COVID and it took me out through all of August. I thought I was recovering this month, but I rebounded. I already have heart problems as it is, so with COVID making breathing difficult, it put a strain on my heart that I didn't need. I am almost 100%. I tend to return to giving you the news of Newgrounds with the return issue on October 2nd. Thank you all for your paitence.

@Kolumbo has brought up that the Internet Archive is currently being sued by major book publishers over their online book lending program. HarperCollins, one of the publishers suing, states that the Internet Archive has exceeded what libraries are legally allowed to do and are suing for copyright infringement.

The stories of Rapid Hedgehog Cucumber Cucumber. It was made by @PeopleAlways. It was his first and only flash movie here on Newgrounds. After that, he disappeared completely from the site. No posts, no reviews, no favorites, that's it. The story itself is what you would expect from a children's or tween cartoon. The bizarreness of it is the voice acting, the characters recolored and/or redesigned characters from other shows. It is surely a strange flash. One of Newgrounds little one hit wonders. From the author's descriptions, there were plans for a whole series, but it never came to fruition.

Good Morning Newgrounds! Welcome to an updated version of The Tank Tribune. Some things have been trimmed here and there. I have combined the General News, Artist News, and Community News all into one big section to help conserve space so I can post more pictures of more cool things happening! Since some of the fat has been cut, I have more to play with. I'll be expanding it further in the future. I mainly wanted to focus the paper more on news stories of what's going on the site. Another change is collaborations. I try to include those who have won Daily Features in P-Bot's Weekly Daily Features. Collaborations are becoming too large for me to really include. It just becomes a massive wall of text. I am hoping to improve this. I am looking for feedback. With that out of the way. Here are the hip happenings of Newgrounds!

On July 24th, there was a meetup of Newgrounds members in the Empire State. Almost twenty Newgrounders attended the event. Those @BrandyBuizel, @Imprez, @d0munit, @FletcherEPS, @GirZiggler, @Kiyo, @KingCrowned, @Tiny, @Slowsolid, @Flowingcheech, @EpithetSoup, @russ7k, @TheKahnMan, @NeatoNG, @Luis, and @Scootakip. Meet ups are always a fun way to get to know people on the site and trade stories. Collaborative efforts can come from these events as well. The music in 3rd Grade Transformers came about through a meetup. If you're ever in the area for one of these, you should definitely attend if you can.
@CaptainStevie is hosting a meetup in Philadelphia. Downtown Sheraton Philadelphia in Panel Room 1. If the event is a success, he will host more in the future. If you plan on attending the event and have some more time to kill, the Newgrounds Office is located in Glenside, PA. Less than an hour away from the Meetup. You could stop by and say hi to Tom. Here are directions.

@Ugasisvelta is celebrating one year of The Ugasi Show here on Newgrounds with an art contest. The goal is to draw a fanart piece involving most of the cast or any of the guests that have been on the show. Rules and cast members can be seen in the news post. Below are the prizes.

@Durinde has released an old school serial drama on the Audio Portal. They have made other dramas in the past. If there is general interest for this one, it will continue. Check out other one offs below.
@Delfrig has announced the release date of the next episode of one of the best anime series on Newgrounds. The 26-letter saga, Alphabet: The Series. It will be debuting tomorrow August 8th! Mark your calendars for the occasion. Recap by watching all the past episodes of the series, A-Y.
@Prox276 has a big project coming to the site. A game called Dynacore. It has been his passion project and he is excited to release it. Check out the trailer below and be ready, it will be launching on August 20th.
@ThatJohnnyGuy has released a new episode of his show The Off The Wall Show. @i9incher joined him as a guest on the show to talk about viral music marketing, his own works, and other stuff. Check it out and check out pass episodes of Off The Wall.
The frozen treat known as the Klondike Choco Taco has been discontinued by Klondike. One Newgrounds member in particular was saddened by this revelation and made a tweet about it, that user being @TomFulp. He made a tweet about it that was featured on the TODAY show's news segment about the ice cream. There has been good news in this regard. Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian has offered to purchase the rights to Choco Tacos. He doesn't have any news to share on this regard. Klondike has responded to the consumer's response in possibly bringing them back in the coming years.
@HeRetiK is celebrating the twentieth anniversary of his flash website, MINDistorion.tv. He has integrated the Ruffle engine so his games can be played once again. If you have a moment, stop on by the site. His collection can also be seen here on Newgrounds. Check out some of his works below.
@s-zenmode is celebrating reaching 500 Fans! He used to browse the site and decided to make an account. He then made a game from scratch and uploaded it to the Portal. He is now in the process of working on a game for the Mobile Game Jam. He is wrapping up an Alien Hominid Art Collab and working on his Pixel Day entry. @LD-W has announced the closing of Round 1 for the DeathMatch. No more entries may be submitted by the combatants. The judging process is underway and will last two weeks, with Round 1 beginning on August 15th, Clock Day. LD-W has made a playlist compiling all of the Round 1 entries.
@GrantTheHierophant is working on a pilot for an upcoming show he's working on called Hellion. He requires voice actors for his cast. This is a paid job in which you will be paid based on experience, equipment, and skill. Please state your rates when you apply. Here are the characters that need voices. Voice actors must be 18 years or older to audition.
He encourages everyone to try out, even if you're new to voice acting. To apply simply PM GrantTheHierophant. You may link or attach a demo reel when you apply. You will then be given a script to send your audition with. Deadline for auditions is 11:59 PM on August 31st.

@Dry is organizing a collaborative album with the theme of Summer. The collaboration will be on a private Discord server. If you want to join, PM Dry a copy of your work so he can decide whether or not to give you an invite. Once you're invited you will have until August 26th to complete your song. It needs to be sent in the Discord as an .mp3 or .wav. It will be used to make one big album on YouTube.
@Saminat is celebrating 1000 Fans here on Newgrounds. For the past ten years he has contributed his creations and collaborated with multiple creators here on the site, with his artwork and voice. @ZaneLittle has been working on a project where he makes a new song every day. He will be ending it on Day 30. It's not something he can keep up with due to working on songs for clients and listings. He has given advice on whether or not you should do this. For new musicians he gives a resounding yes. You can check out the collection here. Once ZaneLittle has completed the project, it will be added to the Archive.
"You don't have to share it or do anything with it, just DO it! It's fantastic practice, and wonderful discipline for people who struggle with musician's block. Forcing yourself to do this will make you more comfortable with getting started on new tracks, will make you more familiar and efficient with your DAW, and will likely force you to try new things which in basically all cases means learning new things! Finding a way around a busy schedule has its benefits too, and will get you to create music in situations where you may be limited or unfamiliar. The longer you go, the stronger a musician you will be, and I believe that fully!!"

Sorry there hasn't been a lot to this issue this week. I've been hard at work trying to make The Tank Tribune better and more appealing to Newgrounds. I am excited for the return of The Newgrounds Podcast! Perhaps it will be time to feature them in the paper again. With what I have planned, I can certainly squeeze them in here. He was always a friendly and fun individual known for his works on Jive Machine and The Newgrounds Quiz #2. He will be missed by all of us here on Newgrounds.

Last year was a huge Summer for Newgrounds with the Summer Animation Jams. This year it is being scaled back. A one-off Summer Animation Jam is being hosted by @BrandyBuizel. Here is the Jam detailed below.

LD-W first started off on the site as @Lich. He was one of Newgrounds first Supporters when the feature was launched. He switched over to a new account, not unlike MaestroSorrow becoming MaestroRage. To choose just one of the many creations behind Edd Gould, a.k.a. @eddsworld, is practically impossible for the Flash Portal History. We will stick with Hammer & Fail and Hammer & Fail 2 though. They showcase the characters brilliantly. The writing and comedic timing are perfection. It is one of the funniest things on Newgrounds, with Hammer & Fail 2 winning the Triple Crown.

Then i decided it might be funny to see them build it. This was also a good time to introduce thier neighbours which have never been mentioned but i have always known ere there, thier rivals. Opposite versions of themselves, much like Bizarro, The rowdyruff boys and so forth. The original reason for splitting it was to keep fans happy faster, but in the end i think it took just as long as normal thanks to other complications!"

Good Morning Newgrounds! Before you read any further, go to General News, read about VoicesByCorey, then come back here. I just returned from my vacation. It was a wonderful time. There were many sexy pictures taken. If this issue of The Tank Tribune gets over 100 Reactions, I will post them in the next issue. "Back in 2005 I did a movie called Bitchin' Camaro, and since then I've been dying to animate something like that again. One lonely night back in March I had been browsing the Audio Portal for one reason or another (or For No Reason?) and I came across ForNoReason's submission A Voice Acting Demo? I loved his awkward charm, gave it a pretty generic review, and then completely forgot about it. It took me another five months to put two and two together, and I decided to make good on my promise of producing "a long, bland flash movie". It was a complete surprise to him. I think he enjoyed it."

It has been a long week and I have another long week coming up, then it is time for a vacation at the beach. It is something that I have been needing for quite some time to rest these weary bones. @Fim has given us some sad news. Newgrounds user Oliver has recently passed away due to cancer. Oliver has been part of Newgrounds since 2007. He attended Newgrounds meets and was a fixture on the Newgrounds Forums. It is a sad day. He started a fundraiser to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. If you can make a donation to help out, then please do. Which if there are any Newgrounds members you haven't spoken to in a while. Check in on them. Remember this, you are never promised tomorrow.

Good Morning Newgrounds! As you have read above, we have lost a member of our community. Oliver was a user who I have crossed paths with before. I unfortunately never knew him personally. Loss here is something that hits pretty heavy on a lot of users, no matter how close or apart you are. It is important to value one another for not only our talents and skills, but for our friendships and kindness. We have people who don't care for Madness Day, Clock Day, or Robot Day. Pico Day though, brings us all together. It is sad that Oliver didn't get to experience that day with us. I don't have too much more to say than that.

What is the DeathMatch?
The NGADM is one of Newgrounds biggest contests. It is where musicians are put against one another in head-to-head competition, tournament style. There is an audition phase where you post one piece of your work to represent yourself to see if you make the cut to Round 1. Back in 2015, @Aaron-Long would give us a new series on Newgrounds. The adventures of the mascots of Subpar, Sublo & Tangy Mustard. This series shows a realist point of view and tends to hit way too close to home on certain matters.
"After I moved to LA I didn't make a personal short for a couple of years but I was brainstorming ideas for them. I had plans to do more Fester Fish but I also wanted to do something that wasn't a pastiche of existing stuff, something more inspired by my own life in Toronto with my friends in my early twenties. I put a lot of my own personal experiences into it and the mascot suit idea was just sort of a gimmick so that the two protagonists were visually interesting and that it wasn't just a totally self-indulgent autobio project. Season 1 was written as six episodes but ended up just being the first 4, which we recorded in 2015. Then season 2/episodes 5-15 were written and recorded in 2017, and I'm only just finished that batch now! Yes I do want to make a season 3 and I have a bunch of episode ideas, but I'm not sure when it will happen yet. I think I need to take a break from it again (as I did after season 1) and recharge while I focus on my day job."
