I wasn't able to get this week's issue out on Tuesday sadly. Therefore, two weeks will be put into one come this Monday. I've been working on things to add more to the paper. This Monday will be a mega issue. I'm feeling better and will have the weekend off to put the finishing touches on this issue.

Good Morning Newgrounds! Shout out to @Malachy for becoming the newest Patron on Patreon! Last week was quite the doozy let me tell you. Both Stepford and Wandaboy have won awards for last year's Pico Day and they've only grown from there in terms of collaborative projects. Stepford would go on to take a team and win Best Game this month. Wandaboy would take a team and go on to win Best Movie this month. The composers of Newgrounds have been on fire lately. Launching their first albums. Cranking out music. The Kitty Krew is nostalgic now, go figure. GrantTheHierophant is rapping. Krinkels ate a ghost pepper. There is no Supporter section this week. I'm working on tweaking that lately. Although supporting an independent site, without the rules of YouTube and Tumblr and the drama of DeviantArt, is a valiant effort. Some people may want more perks. I'm looking to see what I can do here to entice the Supporter base. Newgrounds is really hip and Dank (or at least I think that's what the kids say nowadays). With all of that out of the way, here are the hip happenings of Newgrounds!

I would like to tell you a story. It's a story about @WadeFulp, and a user by the name of sirtom93. The reasons why are because it will make this issue's Flash Portal History make more sense. At a time, different users on the site would make jokes about killing government officials. This is not okay, REALLY NOT OKAY. Even talking about it here is probably not the best idea. That's how much it is not okay.
With that said, with Wade Fulp being the primary administrator here on Newgrounds. He would get called and/or visited by the Secret Service. Mainly due to another user on the site reporting the threat or the NSA possibly catching it. Wade got tired of this happening and stated so in this thread.
Wade was getting tired of having to answer these calls. Tell the Secret Service it was dumb kids being dumb kids. He then started to send the Secret Service to user's houses so they could answer for this to not only the Federal Government, but their family as well. Wade was getting tired of his time being wasted and the government's time being wasted. He decided that if any threats are made. Once the Secret Service has the information they're looking for, said user's account would be terminated.
Now this thread is not the focus, it is the setup. To give you a basis of who Wade Fulp is. He is Tom's older brother. He doesn't take shit from anyone on the site. He will take you down if need be. With that being said, let's get to the point of discussion.
sirtom93. Made a thread stating that he was going to attack his school with arson and other forms of violence. He took a picture of a petrol can that said "Sirtom's Petrol" on the side. This thread was made on March 17, 2009 at 6:40 AM EST. Former user deckheadtottie began calling the Police at 7:04 AM. sirtom93 was not worried though because he felt like no one can get him. Enter Wade Fulp at 7:14 AM.
Leave this topic, authorities are being contacted.
Reading that sentence still sends chills down my spine. At that point, the entire thread became a collective effort to get a hold of the Police in the UK. To stop him from his plans of arson and who knows what else. @Zerok provided pictures of him for cross-reference, PIC 1 | 2. Zerok also provided important information on who he is. There was debate on whether or not to lock the thread, no moderator dared override Wade's decision on leaving it open for information.
At 12:11 PM EST, Zerok announced that sirtom93 was in custody. Around 12:14 PM EST Zerok announced that the detective was interrogating sirtom93 and that he dropped the names of two people with similar interests. The names were forwarded to Wade for information and approval before going public.
We hadn't heard word until @Rig announced at 3:09 PM EST that sirtom93 would be in custody overnight. The police were still monitoring the thread. Wade locked the thread at 7:06 PM EST. 12 hours after his initial post. Rig would cover the rest of the story in his news post.
On March 18, 2009, sirtom93 was allowed to make phone calls. He said he had no intention of doing anything. He was found with the gas can, matches, and knives on him. He brought them only to show off. On March 30, 2009, he was apparently being held in a secure psychiatric unit. March 2010 his preliminary hearing had begun. On November 2010 he had been tried, charged, and sent to a secure hospital unit and wouldn't be released until approved by a medical board. His last post on Newgrounds came in the Ng Viking Army thread. He said he would be out by March. That was the last we heard from him. This was the last we would hear from sirtom93.
Now why did I tell you this whole story? One, to tell you the amazement of Newgrounds and how fast it can act on a problem if need be. Two, to show you not to mess around on the site with baseless accusations and threats, because the hammer will come down upon you. Three, DO. NOT. FUCK. WITH. WADE. FULP. Four, Newgrounds will make fun of you, at your expense, for trying to do something stupid which leads me to this.
We featured @scottmale24 back in Issue NO. 6 of The Tank Tribune for Forum History. Now he has taken this bit of history and made a Flash Game. You can act out the events that sirtom93 took on this day in hilarious fashion. The story has a familiar ending though, you get busted in the end.
"Newgrounds used to thrive on that sort of push-the-boundaries-of-what-is-offensi ve entertainment. The whole situation was just so bizarre and almost surreal, it was almost as if he set himself up to be caught. At the time of the incident I'd been working on a point-and-click style game engine for fun, and I'd been dying to use Rucklo's "Drunk" song in a submission. It was almost a calling. A duty. It was written in my DNA and in my coffee grounds and in the stars that I assume hang in the sky beyond the constantly overcast nights of upstate New York.
And it was fun to make."

Her business is doing well, running personal craft fairs which helps get her mind off of things for a while. She hasn't been drawing in a while, but she's looking to get back into it and looking to not be as much of a hermit. Her snake and her cat Biscuit are doing well. Her Dad also got his license back and is doing well and having fun driving again. He wasn't driving due to a blind eye. She is also interested in how your life is going.

Good Morning Newgrounds! This issue's Phonograph is dedicated to sorohanro! He has been a fan and huge support of my projects here on Newgrounds. With his song Light Orchestral Loop being the theme song for @TheInterviewer. The old version of Paper Dragon and Paper Dragon being the Intro and Outro for The Tank Tribune. He has been gracious to allow me to use these songs. It is time to give back. Every song in the Phonograph is by sorohanro, with a few collaborations. April Fool's Day saw Tom take a whack at NFT's and it backfire immediately. The Supporters got some sweet new icon perks out of it though! It became a thing after this year's April Fool's Day joke Dankmen NFTs and their immediate cancellation the following day due to people stealing said images. Many a shipmate were on this expedition to plunder booty. RedCoin's faithful parrot @The-Great-One, Grand Advisor @Timmy, Binocular Guy @Jay, and Galley Cook @tarahloveshentai. They were attacked by Pirate Captain @Slint. daethdrain was also part of the ship and took down the vicious Pirate Captain Slint. You may better know daethdrain as @Seth. Pirate Captain Slint didn't stay down long though. He came back with a vengeance. The Navy showed up. @Sheizenhammer was left behind. @ZJ came in with not only a cool guy helicopter, but a submarine as well. In the end it was tarahloveshentai who would find the hoes. @deathink had a great idea one day. What if you could listen to Newgrounds Audio Portal while browsing the site or working on a project for Newgrounds. It was one of the site's most ambitious projects. It would become Pico Day. Although the Flash version is outdated, it would grow into the Newgrounds Radio we have today. Tom Fulp became deathink's biggest fan. He even has his own Emoji set you can use on Newgrounds. This wouldn't be deathink's last project. Next week, we'll actually talk about another project he has done.
"The inspiration was simple, I love listening to NeoGeo musicians while I work, but hate having to stop and reload a new song every couple minuets. So I started working on what would be know as "Pico Radio", HOWEVER, when it was about 90% complete, I fried my computer. I lost "Pico Radio" (and about 4 years of other projects and assets). I told TomFulp what happened to my PC, and how I not only lost "Pico Radio", but how I also lost my new game engine. Tom offered to fix my PC for free, but more importantly he told me not to worry about losing my new game engine, because now I would have the opportunity to make a better one. And he was right. I remade "Pico Radio" and it was superior in every way, not only aesthetically, but the file was smaller, faster, with a better sound quality and I could now have an infinite number of songs on a playlist. I never took Tom up on his offer, because I could always remake everything better. You can see the original version of "Pico Radio" here."

I have read it, but haven't fully played around with it yet. I intend to do though. Leo & Satan started off as just a simple short by @Oney and @Seankiely. It became a huge hit on Newgrounds that people wanted a sequel. It would soon become its own series on the site.
"When I was in school, my friend Sean and I were joking around and thought it would be funny if Satan was a mischievous old man whose worst punishment was putting to much sugar on someone's pancakes. We needed someone for Satan to piss off with this so I drew Leo and we made a the short Pancake Doomsday. It grew from there.
People really seemed to like Algebra Aversion, and I always wanted to make a drug related cartoon. I also wanted to see if I could top the first, I think it came pretty close."

Good Morning Newgrounds! A new show called Central Park has hit Apple+ Tv. In one of the episodes is this song entitled Trying Too Hard. I feel a lot of content creators can pull something from this show. Something that has hit them with their works at some point in their lives. I thought it important to share with all of you. With that said, whoa, it has been one hell of week last week. So many contributors coming together to make movies and games for the site. Contest winners galore! This issue is also dedicated to two users. The first being one of Newgrounds most veteran members, FUNKbrs. The other being Vista-Sound13, whose music has graced multiple Phonographs in The Tank Tribune. This week's Phonograph is complete with 40 songs by Vista-Sound13. While I was browsing Newgrounds, I did come across a lot of joy and happiness. Tons of work. People working together on huge projects. Big things happening for some of Newgrounds best. Many I call friend here on the site. I was looking to showcase more of the underrated creators on Newgrounds and I hope I have done that here today. However, I came across people who are not doing too well. Whether they have hit the bottom with their work, they're suffering from burnout, or life in general has just gotten them down. I have reached out to them, and I hope the friends I have pointed some of them too can help out. If you're a creator reading this, whether you're doing great or feeling underwhelmed about your work. I have posted another video here. It is from CGPGrey when the pandemic just started out. I think the lessons it teaches are still just as important today. Be sure to take care of yourself so you can keep your spaceship running. If you are suffering from burnout, use this as an opportunity to not only recover, but browse Newgrounds as well. Connect with other creators. Chat and make friends. You'll get that itch again before you know it and have tons of ideas. If you're don't know why your works aren't being noticed or think they're good enough. Visit the respected forum in the Community. Make friends there. Talk about your works. You'll be surprised at how much you discover. Newgrounds is an incredibly welcoming and friendly place for animators, artists, musicians, voice actors, writers, game developers, programmers, coders, beta testers, and just about anything else you can think of. If you also want to get your works more noticed, enter a contest that is coming up. There are always prizes in some shape or form. If anything, it will definitely get more eyes on your works. I think that is all I can say in this matter. If you want help or are still unsure about anything about Newgrounds, then pop a thread in the Where is / How to / Help! or just Send Me a PM. While working on this issue I was going back through the past issues and reminiscing. Seeing the first issue and what it has become is incredible. It is all thanks to you. @CyrusOfNaias is looking to upgrade his Supporter plan to $4.99 and is asking the question if there any developmental plans in the future to expand the storage space of the Dumping Grounds. Tom has considered making the Dump a Supporter only feature going forward due to storage costs of giving out free storage to every account. It also makes it anonymous to help prevent those who would abuse it to harm other users or the site. The same idea is being considered for image sharing VIA PM system. There are also talks about multi-author being made available in the Art Portal. @Thecrispychannel is working on a Boss Rush game. The Tank Tribune was able to talk to him about it and he was kind enough to give us a synopsis as well as some design art.
"It's a boss rush game heavily inspired by sonic, crash bandicoot, kao the kangaroo, donkey kong country, banjo kazooie, kirby, mega man, cuphead and other games. The game is going to have 10 levels, the bosses range in size, difficulty, and overall theme. You have 2 attacks, a basic punch and an up kick. You can also fly/glide using your big ears, which is why the character's name is Hiko which roughly means flying/flight in Japanese."
@MarcoCardenas has been working on a short film for a long time now. It is called Fishman. He has the script, storyboards, score, and voice acting done. He is in the process of animation. He won the Daily Feature award for UNDER INSPECTION and shared a Daily Feature award with @SrPelo and other collaborators on Newgrounds for Spooky Month 4 - Deadly Smiles. If you want to help fund this project, then check out his Ko-Fi.
One of Newgrounds biggest supporters, @Noodle, is forming a collaboration based on his first game Kill Boe. A simple stick figure game where you kill the titular character Boe. The collab will feature thirty shorts about five to thirty seconds in length. If you're an animator and have interest in joining a collab on Newgrounds then read more in the Kill Boe Collab Thread. The deadline is March 15th. Noodle has also been known for the YouTube series This Week on Newgrounds as well as a series on Flash Games.
@Permian-Extinction has been off the site for a while. There are some good reasons as to why though. They became the featured artist for March at a coffee shop they draw at. Five original pieces will be on sale at the coffee shop. Permian-Extinction has also done some album art for a big band they like. Under an NDA though they aren't allowed to show off the work or even state the name of the band. We are eagerly waiting for Permian-Extinction to hear back from the recording label. They're also now an apprentice at Hybrid Image Tattoo in Cincinnati. Hopefully we can coax @ZJ into getting a Newgrounds Tank tattoo. Permian-Extinction is back to their full-time job and working at the tattoo shop on the weekends so there will be less posted to Newgrounds.
Back before we had the Supporter Features there was Newgrounds Secrets. These were unlocked after leveling up to higher levels. There were old movies that were taken down due to legal reasons. Involving the Smurfs and Charlie Brown. There was also a game you could play made by Tom entitled The Last Piece of Cake. Tom has tweaked it for today and released it to the public. This game was released back in 2000 and can now be played by everyone!
@ChillyAbe is new to the site. He knew the site for having Madness Combat, Dad n' Me, and Riddle School. He is learning HTML and CSS and draws occasionally. His favorite series on the site are Madness Combat, Brackenwood, Pico, and Riddle School.
@FrostPen is a new artist, animator, and musician here on the site. He came from a website called Scratch. He left because he couldn't tolerate the community anymore. He likes that Newgrounds is more open and mature. Check out some of his works below!

Thank you all so much to those who come back here every week to read the paper and sticking it out with me through the trials and tribulations that consumed my life. I can't believe I'm actually in a good place in my life right now. That I'm able to be here with you this morning to share the news with you. To be doing The Interviewer and sharing the stories of the famous artists and members of Newgrounds. I feel like I should always be doing more, I don't want to overwhelm myself though between my day job and Newgrounds. It is a pleasure to be with you on Sunday mornings and now on Monday mornings. I also want to thank @sorohanro for allowing me to use the different versions of his song Paper Dragon as the theme song for The Tank Tribune. Ever since I heard those songs I always wanted to use them for something, but I never knew what. I feel it is fitting here. I hope that people will look to those songs the same way they say Light Orchestral Loop as The Interviewer theme. In a similar sense that Endless Handbag Loop is Newgrounds theme. Good Morning Newgrounds! I hope you all had a fantastic twosday last week. While I was working on this issue as I'm sure you have heard and seen by now, Russia has invaded the Ukraine. Now I try to keep politics out of this paper since it not only serves as a catch-up on Newgrounds, but as a way to escape from reality. Unfortunately though I need to bring this to attention, because for the United States of America where Newgrounds is based at, we are having a problem that I will address in the General News section. Legislation is trying to be snuck through that could affect not only Newgrounds, but a lot of your favorite sites as well. There has been a lot going on Newgrounds recently. With the series X-RL7, Chaotic Heart, and Solace. Two scary collabs, one being Resident Evil 2 and the other being Newgrounds Creepypasta. Fro having trouble with Twitter and reminiscing about his days as an Uber driver. Wegra has popped back up in the Tribune. @Enigma2Me has brought something to our attention. A new bill that was proposed and shelved back in 2020 has resurfaced with new additions that could threaten a lot of the Internet including Newgrounds. Here's a short description from Enigma2Me below.
It's an online censorship and mass surveillance act that was introduced 2 years ago by Senator Blumenthal and Graham, and is supposedly about protecting children online dealing with material that is deemed “unsafe for children”. But various online privacy groups and human rights groups such as the ACLU and Fight For the Future have noted that it not only doesn't protect children, it actually makes them LESS safe while being heavily aimed at attacking encryption. This was bad enough at the time in 2020 that it was fiercely rejected and was essentially shelved. But now it’s been re-introduced, and as far as we can tell, with no improvements or changes (it’s actually even WORSE this time around). No doubt hoping to take advantage of people's complacency and other current hot topics as a distraction to push it through under the radar.
We need to take a stand against this as soon as possible. The quicker the better. Follow the link to the thread to learn more. There are notes about how to put a stop to this.
A lot has happened during the month of February. Here are some highlights from the news from Tom.
The /tilt/ - Competition Results were announced. /tilt/ was created by @brin-o and @Droqen, with music by @ComposerEvans. The top 3 of the 13 found some exploits and bugs that they told the creators. They are @Gytbug, @FinnOrFelicity, @an-original-Joke. If you haven't played /tilt/ yet now is a good time!
The deadline for the Flash Forward Jam has been extended to March 13th to March 27th. Some may need this extension, if you're one of them then please let Tom know. If enough people need more time, then more may be provided.
The theme for the MessyPaints challenge this month is to paint Q and Elena from Street Fighter. The deadline is March 1st, that's next week! @DoctorGrambo started this challenge earlier this year. He was a Featured Artist in Issue NO. 41 of The Tank Tribune.
@BadTwinZ started a reanimated collab for Resident Evil 2 back in December 2021. There are still 20 scenes left to animate. The deadline has been extended to March 31st. BadTwinZ lead the Resident Evil REANIMATED Collab for the first game if you're an animator if you want to know what the collab may be like.
@squide, @TechoCookie, and @NewGroundDan are starting a collaboration for Creepypasta. All Portals are open to participation. There are some rules to the collab. @CrockettDK, an artist and musician here on Newgrounds has shown interest in the collab. @chitstain has offered his voice acting talents to the collab as well. He participated in the 2021 Newgrounds Voice Acting Collaboration. @LilSpook has thrown their name in the ring. They participated in Piconjomas Party 2021. If you an artist, animator, voice actor, musician, and/or game developer then join in the spookiness.

Lucky Shart has been the collaboration of @Joe-Mega, which has won him his ninth Daily Feature, @DaemonPlus, which has won them their second Daily Feature, and @Potatoman, which has won him his fifteenth Daily Feature. @PringusMcDingus has picked up his nineteenth Daily Feature for Where was Daisy in the Mario Strikers Battle League Trailer?. It is a remix of a collaboration he did in the past with @NoStereo, @RealMrSnuggles, and @Wilieu, entitled [MEGACOLLAB] ｄｕｍｂ ｖａｐｏｒｗａｖｅ. At number four goes to @milkypossum for Glass Floor (HARCORE REMIX - Olive's Art-Venture), a remix of their own song from Olive's Art-Venture Full OST, which has won multiple awards on Newgrounds, including the Daily 2nd Place, Weekly 3rd Place, Best Game of January, and Best Game of Pixel Day 2022. @TweenAnimations1 has a release date for Chapter 1 of a new series, Nothing Unusual. The second trailer debuted back in October 2021. The release date is March 19, 2022! Below is a synopsis of the series from TweenAnimations1.
"In Japan, Rokurokubi are known to be like Vampires. They're known to be dangerous Yōkais for committing horrible deeds. Except for one. Asumi Mayako -- Born a Rokurokubi, now lives a normal life with Karita Dere. Karita takes her time to take care of Asumi ever since that mysterious night where Asumi was found inside a trash can. Asumi has her moments where she's feeling worried about how people feel about her as a Rokurokubi."
@ZeroDigitZ has released his new game earlier this month entitled Two Maniacs Chapter 1. It is a supernatural horror game. The premise is the town Rock Hill is under lockdown due to a serial killer. You can play between two characters. Arlo a detective who is after the serial killer, and Tess, a young woman looking for her friend after she fears she may be in danger. The music is made by ZeroDigitZ with one track being in the Phonograph this morning. If you haven't played it yet, now is the time!

@W-P-S has been a bit silent on Newgrounds as of late. He's given us an update on his newest project. Smugglers of Ambektra. Here is a short synopsis below.
It's going to be an Africa-themed sci-fi adventure. Two smugglers, Nasbid and Leopold, try and smuggle booze and porn into a military junta, and have to cross hostile deserts and jungles to get there. DANGER, PERIL AND ADVENTURE AWAITS
It may take a few years to finish. The wait will be worth it though. W-P-S music video, Juh Jee Juh Boo Boo, won Best Animated Short at the 2021 Boobs and Blood Festival in Hollywood. Congratulations to W-P-S!
@Buster98 got a new job as a storyboard revisionist. He's been working on a new cartoon, which may be delayed due to working full time now. One of his goals is to become an independent creator and live off his own work. He wants to make cartoons that people like and make them often. @9Hammer has appreciated the feedback from Chaotic Hearts Season 1 finale, Chaotic Heart: Strike the Core (Episode 5), and Solace: In Mind. Season 2 of Chaotic Hearts should be debuting this Summer, so mark your calendars. The next episode of Solace is in the works is looking to be released sometime in March! Back in 2009, Tom Fulp announced an idea, called the Power of Three. It was a summer event where a teams of three would collaborate to make a game. A programmer, an artist, and a musician. One such game that came out of this was Toss the Turtle. With programmer @Foreverkul, artist @Gonzossm, and musician @MaestroRage. It was an idea that brought a lot of great games to the site, but Toss the Turtle became a phenomenon on Newgrounds and beyond. It won a Daily Feature and Weekly 1st Place for its creators. It now has a life outside of Newgrounds under the name Super Toss the Turtle on mobile!
@okaynomo is a new artist on the site. They've been here since January and has just said hello in the Intro Thread. They heard about Newgrounds from someone else. Before the Father of Forums @Fro was a professional weightlifting champion of the universe, he was an Uber Driver. He recounts his tales in the Writing Forum. One as a writing exercise, and two to make some extra money.
"This was one of my attempts of trying to write something small every day. It was a lot of fun while it lasted. I knew it would eventually get repetitive and that I would eventually need to cut out customers because of the repetitive nature of most of the rides. The reason I stopped writing was because I stopped driving. The reason I stopped driving was because I had reached a financial goal and it was starting to get stressful.
Basically I had taken up driving Uber as a second job to help pay for our moving expenses. We moved across country, east coast to west coast. It took quite a bit of my savings away and I needed help catching back up. So I drove Uber for a bit. I had forgot that there was a sign up bonus when I first started. You were guaranteed to make a certain amount in your first 100 trips. If you didn’t make that amount you got the difference in a lump sum after your 100th trip.
After a bad day of driving, a few short trips, not a lot of riders in the night, and witnessing multiple car accidents while driving I was basically an emotional wreck. I had just witnessed a man get hit while riding a motorcycle. The car that hit him sped off and the cars behind him literally beeped for the man to hurry up and get off of the ground out of their way.
It was very disturbing…
Then that lump sum hit. It was substantial. I think $700 give or take a little. I retired from driving Uber on the spot and went home. I don’t think I would do it again."

I finally have my organizational system setup the way I want it. It has taken a number of years to be able to juggle multiple projects, but I figured it out. Last week @Timmy commented on the work that goes into the Tribune. Perhaps I should make a special behind the scenes post about how I put together this paper. Food for thought. All I know is that I could benefit through a Writing Portal here on Newgrounds. At least more characters to work with in the news post. If these issues keep being this big, I don't want to split it into two parts if I don't have to. I am happy to bring you the news every Monday morning on Newgrounds! Thank you for reading!
