If you don’t know what NGTV is, here’s the situation. NGTV’s goal is to replicate the experience of watching television if the channel was Newgrounds related content. Which includes commercials, bumpers, PSAs, etc. You can find more info by clicking the picture above. If this interests you already, then go ahead and apply here.

Since 2006 he has gone through multiple aliases. SoulStrings, MaestroSorrow, MaestroSegments, and the name a lot of people on Newgrounds know him as today, MaestroRage. He has been a friend, mentor, collaborator, and one of the best composers to grace Newgrounds. The creator of the music from Toss the Turtle, winner of the first Newgrounds Tank Award for Best Musician, part of the Symphony of Specters, and whose music is part of Castle Crashers. For his dedication to Newgrounds throughout the years, The Tank Tribune honors him as Supporter of the Week.

The week can get people down sometimes. With all of the hustle and bustle and action packed drama that entails our lives, sometimes it's nice to just kickback and relax. This week we’re looking at some of the famous text based adventure games that have graced Newgrounds throughout generations of the site.

I have been gone for a couple of months, this is true. I’ve been battling with depression for most of my life. I won’t go into that here. I have been taking antidepressants now and have been feeling much better. It has affected my sleep schedule some, meaning I can actually go to sleep now. Rex says hi and that I can share some of his art here if you’re interested in seeing some. A few years back he made me this wonderful piece that I have hanging in the living room. It’s good to be back on Newgrounds doing what I love to do. I’ll see all of you next week.

For those unaware, I have been taking anti-depressants lately to combat my depression. I have been feeling fantastic. Unfortunately that means I've been away from Newgrounds for quite some time. I just finished up with the Treasure Hunt results, which if Tom doesn't beat me to it, will be shown on The Tank Tribune.

So expect the next issue on August 24th! For those on Patreon you will get it a day earlier on August 23rd! I'm also looking to expand to other projects like I used to, except with a clearer mind now.

If you have been here before then you know I have spoken about my depression in the past. It has gotten to a point to where it is hard to block out the suicidal thoughts and downright hopelessness that goes through my mind. During this time, I am now taking antidepressants and they've been doing well. I'm starting to feel like my old self again, which is wonderful. That's where I've been lately. I hope all of you have been doing well.

Two weeks ago, my Internet modem died and I was working on getting that replaced. Finally did. Then I got sick. I got a nice hot Summer cold. I still had to go to my day job, because that's what pays the bills. When I got home, whatever energy I had I was putting towards working on a revised version of The Tank Tribune alongside the Treasure Hunt. Which wasn't much. Thankfully I will have time away from my day job, a whole week, so I'll be putting a lot of that into Newgrounds here!

Sorry for my absence.

So, my Internet modem died. My ISP is sending a new one and FedEx hasn't arrived yet. Posting this through borrowed Internet, which is slow due to being a distance away. Sorry for the delay.

Ahoy mateys! It’s that time of year again! The Newgrounds Treasure Hunt is here! Captain @The-Great-One is here to take you on a voyage throughout Newgrounds! There are a lot of entries that slip through the cracks throughout the year, the Treasure Hunt is a way to put a spotlight on the hidden gems. In this contest you can win cash prizes! Not only will you win if you find the best treasure, but the creator of said treasure will win too!

The Treasure Hunt sprawls through all the Portals, Movies, Games, Audio, and Art! Be sure to click the banner above to see all the details. You can see the rules and deadline below.

RULES

• The entry cannot have been featured on the Frontpage.
• The entry cannot have won any Portal awards.

The third episode of the PUNCH PUNCH FOREVER! Series has dropped on Newgrounds. If you’re unfamiliar with the series, it tells the story of 11 year old Gogo who competes in a martial arts tournament against demons.

The goal of the Treasure Hunt is to find some of the hidden gems of Newgrounds that went under the radar for the year. During its inception it only featured the main Portal. The Official Art Portal Q&A Thread Closed

@TurkeyOnAStick was looking through the Where is/How to/Help! thread related to questions about the Art Portal. This thread was created in 2009, a month after the Art Portal was launched. Since its inception, a lot of things have changed in the Art Portal, so the advice in the thread is outdated. All questions regarding art submissions can be answered in the Art Portal Rules, Art Forum Rules, and the Where is / How to / Help! Forum.

Newgrounds annual tradition of not only preserving, but advancing Flash further has accumulated in the Flash Forward Jam. Here are the winners of this year’s Flash Forward Jam.

Best Game goes to @BoMToons, @Luis, and @Pyragmus for Chess Force.

Best Movie with Interactive Elements goes to @Joeyag for The Whicher 2. This is the sequel to Joeyag’s The Whicher which won 3rd Place in this category during Flash Forward Jam 2023.

Newgrounds first Low Poly Day is this Friday June 6th. The goal is similar to Pixel Day. Where Pixel Day is a celebration of pixel art from the 8-Bit and 16-Bit eras, Low Poly Day is a celebration of the low poly art from the late 90s and early 2000s eras.

If you haven’t made anything or need to add the finishing touches to your project the deadline is approaching. Be sure to post your submission with the tag "lowpolyday2025" on June 6th. There are categories for movie, game, audio, and art.

@tydaze is hosting the second Pride Collab in the Collaboration Forum. It is a collab to celebrate being who you are whether you’re lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender in celebration of Pride Month. Those participating will have their submission in a giant collage. Below are the details of the collab as well as last year’s collage. Details courtesy of tydaze.

HOW TO JOIN

1. Draw a transparent image of a character or an object/symbol displaying celebration of LGBTQIA+ Pride/Alliance. Use a solid black outline for your artwork and do not include any additional outer outline or drop shadow, as I will be adding these myself to unify the collage visually.
2. Scale your artwork to a width of 300 pixels. (Height can vary)
3. Post your submission in the Pride Collab Thread anytime from May 29 to June 27.

OPTIONAL: Upload your artwork to the Art Portal with the tag: pride-collab-2025

For your Art Portal upload you can post your works in full resolution, include alternative versions with a background, etc. You may share the link in the Pride Collab Thread alongside the scaled transparent version.

REQUIREMENTS

• Transparent background.
• Full body of characters must be visible.
• E to T rated.
• Follow all Newgrounds Art Portal Rules; no AI.

ALLIES

Even if you are not LGBTQIA+ yourself, you are more than welcome to participate as an ally. The rainbow flag is recommended to show overall support. You also have the option to use the straight ally flag if you prefer, however "straight pride" flags will not be accepted.

IDEAS AND EXAMPLES

• Your OC waving a pride flag/banner, wearing clothing in pride colors, displaying pride symbols, etc.
• Same-sex characters holding hands, embracing, etc.
• A drawing of an object painted with pride colors or marked with pride symbols.
• A decorative drawing of a pride symbol.
• Also welcome are symbols of peace and unity such as peace signs, hearts, flowers, etc.
• Using original characters is highly recommended to make your submission a personal expression of pride, but fan art will also be accepted.
• Check out the 2024 pride collab for inspiration!

@whimsical-wife has appeared in a cloud of smoke, but inhaled some of it and began coughing. Their goal is to give members of Newgrounds a shout out throughout the summer.

The way this works is you think of a Newgrounds user who is close to you, you then use this Google Form to answer questions about them. whimsical-wife will then select a user from June through July to shoutout. You and the person you shout out will be tagged @ in the post. The deadline is after July 31st 2025 when no new shout outs will be taken.

There are a few rules to follow though.

RULES

• The user you write about must have contributed at least 2 solo works to newgrounds whether it be art, movies, audio or games. 
• Keep what you write at a T Rating. Only link projects to show off up to a T Rating.
• Do not shout out someone who has blocked you or otherwise wants nothing to do with you.

@ForgeFrog has been working on a project called Make It Count. He is looking to create an open source sci-fi universe. It is similar to how the SCP Foundation was built. ForgeFrog already has artists and musicians on board, but the project needs a writer. Criteria includes a love of sci-fi (Halo, Half-Life, and Gundam). To find a writer, ForgeFrog is hosting a short story contest with cash prizes. Below are more details courtesy of ForgeFrog.

RULES

1. The story has to be at MOST 6,500 words and at least 1,000 (if you wrote like 978 or whatever, that’s fine—we’re not teachers)
2. The story has to be a snapshot of two characters in a sci-fi setting
3. The setting has to be new — no Star Wars, no Metroid, all new!!!
4. It cannot be a utopia — there needs to be war of some kind (whether the war is happening on-planet or somewhere else, it has to be a factor)
5. Your target audience is 15+
6. Horror, drama, and adventure are recommended but not required (you can make a romance or a comedy, but they’ll be uphill battles…)
7. No ChatGPT usage
8. No re-using a story you already made, this has to be a brand-new story
9. You must have PayPal to qualify for the cash prize

JUDGING RUBRIC

• Worldbuilding, originality, and attention to detail
• Writing style
• Overall quality of storytelling (was it a good read?)

• Deadline: June 16th, 2025

Internet Archive Petition Update

@ADR3-N is sharing the Defend the Internet Archive Petition. Multiple record labels have come together over a $700 million lawsuit which could impact the Internet Archive as well as the Wayback Machine. The Internet Archive and Wayback Machine are both ways to preserve digital media that is lost or deleted. The Wayback Machine alone has been incredibly useful for those on Newgrounds, including the Newgrounds Archive here on the site. If you have time, sign the petition and spread it as far as you can.

No art dump this month + i have something to say

@ElRandomGMD can no longer make an art dump due to a broken tablet. Once he has a new tablet or his is repaired then he will be able to share more digital art. He has been on Newgrounds for over a year now and has participated in the yearly Sketch Collab and to celebrate 30 years on Newgrounds, the Black and Orange collab.

Good Morning Newgrounds! Welcome to The Tank Tribune! The only newspaper that gives Wegra an outlet. I’m looking forward to catching up on a lot of Newgrounds stuff going forward, especially with The Interviewer, which has been an abandoned project since May of last year. I’m looking to expand The Tank Tribune into more of an online zine, similar to what the Newgrounds Mag used to be. I want to show off the many creators and people on Newgrounds. @EwanDoggieNG is hosting a collaboration based off of PaRappa the Rapper. He’s a huge PaRappa the Rapper fan, even including a parody in his series Stupidly Stupid, Episode 5 - Nyan KITTY!. Below are the guidelines for the collab.

1. Anything that is considered M or A rated isn't allowed. Please do not make NSFW for this collab.
2. Please make your own submission.
3. Please do not add slurs into this collab. The R-slur is okay if it isn't directed at disabled people.
4. Please don't add your watermark. Don't worry, I'll add your username at the bottom left. If you're using FlipaClip, try to screen record the animation from FlipaClip instead of exporting it which causes the dreaded FlipaClip watermark.
5. Do not use any type of copyrighted material. You can use songs from the PaRappa soundtrack, make your own, or use the audio portal.
6. Please do not make your animation gory enough that it reaches the M rating.
7. Yes, you can swear.

14. The minimum resolution is 480p, while the maximum is 1080p.
15. Your submission can be between 20 seconds and 5 minutes.

You can DM me your animation! If you don't know how to DM the animation, follow these steps:

1. Send a message to EwanDoggieNG using this link.
2. Name your message "PaRappa The Rapper Collab Submission"
3. Upload your submission to a file sharing site. (e.g. MediaFire, Google Drive (make the video public in Google Drive), CatBox, FileDitch, unlisted YouTube video)
4. When the file has finished uploading to the file sharing site, copy the link that has your video and paste it to the message.
5. Send the message.
6. Boom! You're done.

If the submission is accepted by EwanDoggieNG, he’ll message you with the subject will be "Accepted". If it's rejected, the subject will be "Rejected".

It has been a rough couple of months. I won't lie. Things are getting back to a state of normalcy. I’m able to be the workhorse I was known for on this site once again. Aalasteir has held that throne for too long. I still need to fill judge roles for the Newgrounds Treasure Hunt this year. That will start in June and hopefully all the judges' scores will be tabulated in June as well if everything goes well. Here’s to next week and many other projects along the way.

Hello Newgrounds. It has been a while. Although I don't have much to offer here in this issue, due to a combination of my day job and a backlog of projects that I'm working on. Takeover Tuesday is getting a new way of doing things. If you make a playlist of either what you featured as a Supporter for Takeover Tuesday or what you liked from Takeover Tuesday, it may be featured here on The Tank Tribune. It's that time again to find the underrated gems hidden throughout Newgrounds for the past year. Treasure Hunt 2025 is going on. Sadly @SplatterDash will not be able to host this year so @The-Great-One is hosting solo this year. He's currently looking for judges to help judge the entries.

Qualifications are simple...

• Must have at least one entry in the Portal with at least 1,000 views.
• Must be a member of Newgrounds for at least one year. If you're one year anniversary is less than a month away, then you can still qualify.
• Must be able to judge within a strict time frame. Judging period will last two weeks and will begin immediately after the submission period.

If you're interested in judging for the Treasure Hunt, simply send The-Great-One a PM.

The Treasure Hunt is a way for Newgrounds Members and Underrated Creators to win cash prizes. There will be awards for both the finder of the best Treasure and the creator of the Treasure.
