Good Morning Newgrounds! The Tank Tribune is celebrating its two year anniversary! Here we will be taking a look back at some of the momentous occasions of the paper. This morning's phonograph will feature the first song of every edition of The Tank Tribune's past issues. Looking back at the past issues. Seeing the redesigns. How the creators of Newgrounds had grown and evolved throughout these two years is just incredible. I absolutely loved seeing what all this site has done and continues to do. I know I have only touched on a few things here. If you want to see more, the just click the header at the top of the paper to be taken to the archive. Voice Actor Collaboration
Back in the debut issue of The Tank Tribune, @VoicesByCorey had a wonderful idea. The debut of the Voice Actor Collaboration! It is now an annual event for the Voice Acting Community here on Newgrounds!
Everybody Loves Raymond! Collab
Animal Crossing: New Horizons was the hot game during June. With quarantine keeping a lot of people inside, this gave a lot of Nintendo Switch owners an escape with some nostalgia. @heyopc and @Droid brought together 50 animators to make a collaboration about one villager in particular who was new to this iteration of the Animal Crossing series.
Newgrounds 25th Anniversary
Newgrounds turned 25-Years Old! For Internet age, that is quite the impressive feat. The members of Newgrounds certainly partied for the celebration.
The End of Flash
January 12, 2021, saw the death of Flash. Newgrounds has been working on preservation for years before this moment. A lot of great work has been done, there is still more needed. Under Judgment Entries Stuck in the Portal
@ZhengHe noticed a lot of entries under judgment in the Portal. This is still a growing concern for the site. Newgrounds isn't like YouTube where bots do the vetting process. We the members of Newgrounds get to decide what stays and what gets BLAMMED! Go to The Portal and do your Newgrounds duty!
There were some historical movies and games that became the Daily Features on The Tank Tribune. Here are seven in mind. FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN' won its team a Daily Feature and was featured in Issue NO. 20. @ninjamuffin99, @PhantomArcade, @evilsk8r, and @KawaiSprite are now household names on Newgrounds! @Butzbo gave us his entry for the first ever Flash Forward Jam, 'Brain-Toasting Dungeon' in Issue NO. 34. @LazyMuffin won a Daily Feature for EVERY YOUTUBE HOUSE TOUR in Issue NO. 43. Back in Issue NO. 1, @Krinkels and @cheshyre started off the week with a Madness movie called An Experiment. Castle Crashing the Beard HD brings home a Daily Feature for @BoMToons, @l0litsmonica, @Luis, @PestoForce, @Pyragmus, and our lord and savior @TomFulp. @Delfrig's entry into Alphabet: The Series entitled U, took a Daily Feature in The 50th Issue. Let Her Know (Or Something) snagged @Ukinojoe a Daily Feature in Issue NO. 32.

@BomToons updates us to what he's been up to. He's been working on music, which you can hear one of his songs in this morning's Sunday Phonograph. He's been working on artwork, axe throwing, and Castle Crashing the Beard HD.
Birthday (w/ updates)
@GrayAnimations celebrated his 14th Birthday! His projects are going swimmingly with a return of Fatman. He's also writing out the script for Metal Gear SUPER Awesome. Fatman is a passion project of his that he's been working on. Metal Gear SUPER Awesome continues the Metal Gear Awesome Cartoons by @Egoraptor.
"End Times" Pitch
@RWappin is working on a full fledged animated show entitled End Times. He doesn't know how he is going to fund this project, he's mainly throwing it out there. It will be a show involving adult themes. Here's a small synopsis of the show to give you an idea.
"There is a sense of dread in the air as everyone seems to think they are in the End Times- for their own reasons. The forces of darkness are making their move towards total global enslavement, but those who see the “end” as just the edge between their comfort zone and the unknown, will ascend."

A special treat for this anniversary issue. Pico's School was released in 1999. It would later be added to the Newgrounds Portal in 2006. It was about Pico saving his school from a bunch of goth kids who were shooting up the school. Pico would become a Newgrounds icon on the site, even having his own day!
"Part of it is just me being a dick but there are definitely other factors involved. Pico was inspired by Columbine, which happened while I was in college. Columbine was kinda fascinating because the kids were a lot like me and my friends in high school. We listened to the same music, had the same brand of teenage angst. Plus I was a dick and thought it would be an exciting concept that no one had built a game around yet.
In general I felt an obligation to be counter-programming to the content I grew up with, because growing up there was no way to share your content with the world without getting whitewashed by some big media conglomerate first. "Extreme" content doesn't feel as cool now because the web has been around for a while and everyone has gotten it out of their system. Or maybe I'm just old now and worried about what other parents would think if I kept making stuff like that."

September 11 happened almost 20 years ago today. The original 9/11 thread was made discussing what was going on as it was happening. Where were you when the towers were hit? September 11 is recognized as Patriot Day in the USA.

Created by @Rohedin on April 11, 2007. Sometimes two threads would be matched up by coincidence on the forums and it was always funny to see it. Then parody threads would pop up with the original thread and then it wasn't much of a coincidence anymore. The thread was fun, but it got out of hand and became a +1 fest so it was locked. It is fun to look back on it though.
The No Cussing Club
A long time ago, there was a movement started by a 14 year old named McKay Hatch. The goal was to stop cussing. There was quite the discussion on the forums about is this just a wholesome movement to help clean up language or was it a movement under the guise of censorship?

I am just going to preface with this word of advice. If you're having trouble with your homework for a project, Newgrounds would be more than helpful to give you tips or advice and help. However, we will not do your homework for you, nor will we help you if you decided to procrastinate. @ActualOccurences was not the first to do this, but he unintentionally made @STEM hit his breaking point.
The week can get people down sometimes. With all of the hustle and bustle and action packed drama that entails our lives, sometimes it's nice to just kickback and relax. This is the Sunday Console. A collection of games to play and relax on Sunday Morning. Here are some games featured in past Sunday Console's.
Newgrounds has always been my escape. A proper home where I could always be myself and not have to cave into my family's desires and perceptions. A place for the misfits of the Internet. In a way it still kind of is. I see new users in the Portal and the Forums, at times it's like looking back in time. Seeing myself in some ways. Mind you SOME, I was a bit of an arrogant asshole back in the day. Thank you to all of the readers of The Tank Tribune. Thank you to @BenTibbetts for being my first patron on Patreon and sticking it out with me these two years. I love you all.
