I am sorry that there will not be an edition of The Tank Tribune this week. I will be working on a mega issue for next week to make up. Last Sunday I ended up in the hospital. I was slicing at work when my left hand and arm went numb. I pinched a nerve in my left wrist. I was diagnosed with beginning stages of carpal tunnel. I have to follow up with a hand doctor to see where I go from there. Right now I am in a wrist brace so typing and work has been hell. Last night I ended up in a great deal of pain in two occasions and broke two pens with my right hand to cope with the pain.
I was not able to work on the paper last week like usual. I wasn't able to work on any of my writings sadly. I apologize immensely. There will be a new issue next week to start off the month of May. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.
In the meantime, if you can please Support Newgrounds. Without Newgrounds there is no Tank Tribune or any of the fun stuff you have come to love here on the site.
Good Morning Newgrounds! Sorry for the lateness in this edition posted. Newgrounds was experiencing crashes pertaining to FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN'. This issue was planned out to celebrate the Games here on Newgrounds to coincide with Week 7 and Castle Crashing The Beard HD coming out. We are here now with the "Monday" Console having 40 Games, all classics on Newgrounds, all Ruffle enabled, for you to play this morning! Pico Day is coming up next Saturday so if you don't have your entry ready then now would be time to put on the finishing touches. With that out of the way, here are the hip happenings of Newgrounds!
To celebrate all of the games on Newgrounds! There are 40 Games here! Well technically 39, FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN' was one of them, but I couldn't add it to the playlist for the Tribune. It will be added in due time. Enjoy some of Newgrounds classics from past to the present!
THE LATEST FROM THE FOUNDER AND CEO OF NEWGROUNDS @TomFulp
FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN' launched Week 7 with the TANKMEN! It was so popular that Newgrounds crashed. A full game is looking to be in development with fundraising on Kickstarter. The goal was $60,000 which it surpassed it ten fold with over $700,000 pledged.
This year's annual Pico Day will be Saturday May 1st! There are prizes for best animation, best game, best music, and best art! Each category consists of cash prizes for 1st-5th Places as well as an interview with The Interviewer to those who place 1st! Get out there and make something to celebrate Pico Day!

These are the people who make Newgrounds possible. Thank you!
This week we have a combination of Supporter of the Week and this week's Featured Artist. Sabtastic has not only been an incredibly skillful artist, but she is one of Newgrounds biggest supporters and contributors. Her artwork has graced the background of Newgrounds and she is a constant voice in the Art Portal through her reviews. Her works have ranged from video games, to birds, to original characters. She is a well known figure here on Newgrounds, if you are new to the site though you should definitely check out her works.
If you read our Podcast section last week then you will know that @HavryloThePigeon is working on a new collaborative project. An audio serial entitled Nol's Therapy Mansion. There are more details in the thread and he is looking for more collaborations from Newgrounds! The first two episodes are out now!
@LucaTheHuman is an artist and is wondering if you have drawn anything recently. Could be a work-in-progress, a completed work, a doodle, anything. Doesn't matter if art is your hobby or if you were just scribbling. Share it with Newgrounds!
@Pervyangel is looking to be more active here on Newgrounds. He has been busy with his Patreon, some things going on in life, and his DeviantArt winding down.
@jelly07 and @Zalay are looking to start a Newgrounds Collab. They are looking to make one based off of PaRappa the Rapper, both the video game and anime. If you're interested in joining then send a Demo Reel of your past works to either jelly07 or Zalay.
@Jazza would bring us his contribution to Pico Day 2006 with an anthem. It is how I start celebrating each Pico Day. With this momentous occasion just around the corner, I thought it fitting to reminisce with this Pico Day submission.

@SparxWolfie is our newest user on the site. He's looking to talk to anyone about anything Marvel, Video Game, or Animation related. He's still new to the site so give him a nice hello!
@JustSomeBodyElse joined to play the Henry Stickmin Games before Flash was gone. FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN' pulled them back in. Share some of Newgrounds other classic games with them!
@SquidwardsSon joined us back in December. He grew up playing old flash games on here. He was recommended FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN' and decided to make an account. He is an artist here! Check out his works below!
@MatthewMcChan is calling on you to go to The Portal and vote on Under Judgement submissions. BLAM (a.k.a. delete) movies and games. Help keep the site clean and do your civic duty as a Newgrounds member!
Although not Newgrounds related, it is sad to see another Internet personality die. Adam Perkins passed away. The cause of death hasn't been disclosed. He was a Vine star best known for his Welcome to Chili's Vine.
@BronzeHeart92 is looking for any games on Newgrounds that can be played with a controller instead of the keyboard. Back in 2009 @MindChamber made a post entitled Quit Playing Flash Games on your KeyBoard!. It is an old news post so with updates the video tutorials are no longer there. It is something to look into if you're interested.
@Galloglasses came up with the idea to celebrate one of Newgrounds mascots. The creation of Tom Fulp, Pico. Pico is to Newgrounds what Mickey Mouse is to Disney. Pico Day is an important holiday here on Newgrounds. A celebration of Pico and his friends, the TANKMEN, and other Newgrounds iconic characters. This was an idea back in 2005. We have celebrated Pico Day since then.
Work has been hell the past few days. Sunday while I was slicing I had numbness in my left hand that went through my arm. My heart started doing crazy stuff and I had trouble breathing. I pinched a nerve in my wrist which messed with blood flow and through my system out of whack. The doctor believes I am in the beginning stages of carpal tunnel syndrome. I am currently wearing a wrist brace with a thumb stint in it and I have to follow up with a doctor going forward. I am resting my wrist as much as possible going forward so please be patient with my writings going forward. Thank you all for reading and sorry for the delay in the paper, but out of all the things to delay it, overwhelming traffic on Newgrounds is a wonderful way for it to crash.

Good Evening Newgrounds! The Tank Tribune is always posted in the morning or in some cases the afternoon. I thought it would be nice to throw some of my fellow night owls a bone with an evening issue. HavryloThePigeon is here again with a brand new radio show. There have been some bots running around wanting to play games and give away things, they are not to be trusted though. There is talks of your favorite candy to satisfy your sweet tooth. So pour yourself a nice drink or flavored coffee all you cool cats and kiddies. Here are the hip happenings of Newgrounds... at night.
The month of March brought a lot of great submissions due to the Flash Forward Jam and the Friday Night Funkin’ Jam. The Best Game of March 2021 goes to @Butzbo for his 1st Place Entry in the Flash Forward Jam entitled Brain-Toasting Dungeon. Congratulations to the both of you and all of the winners for Best of March!
There has been an increase in bots on Newgrounds offering to play a game or for you to claim your prize from Newgrounds. DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINKS IN THE PM! If you come across one of these then just simply hit the Flag option on the PM itself. You can see it right beside Sent Box on the PM. You don't need to contact Tom or make a thread about it.
Not exactly Newgrounds related news, but we do have many a Newgrounds member among the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. Queen Elizabeth II's husband Prince Phillip passed away at the age of 99.
This collaboration celebrating one of the Internet's most famous songs came out back at the beginning of April. The idea came from @revvvv and the collaboration was lead by @ShalNG and had the talents of several artist and animators! Check it out when you get a chance!
Last Week's Daily Features from the Portal as posted through P-Bot's Postings are listed here. We begin this week with another sizzling entry from @meatcanyon, a Garfield parody entitled Lasagna, picking him up the Daily Feature. @horizon-hugger picks up his second overall Daily Feature and first solo Daily Feature for his movie hi axlotl... To close off the week, @StaggerNight picks up his seventh Daily Feature for his Mario parody entitled 4PM LUIGI ITS.
@HavryloThePigeon has brought us a new radio show to enjoy! He was gathering ideas for it and has released two episodes. It is called Nol's Therapy Mansion. It is Zeph. He got a business card for Nol's Therapy Mansion. He is hypnotized to travel through the mystical land of Zodkoon to find out that Nol is not there. He will meet strange people and find weird locations with cryptic clues on finding Nol in hopes of fixing his sleep paralysis problems. Give it a listen later on.

One of Newgrounds veterans and long time Supporters. Afro-Ninja has been supporting Newgrounds since 2012! Even more so before that! When the Newgrounds Store was still operational, he purchased a ton of gear! He has always contributed money towards the many Jams and Contests here on the site. Although he wasn't the one to create the Escape Room games on the Internet, he most certainly defined and perfected them, which is now the standard today. His works have inspired tons of Newgrounds creators. Thank you Afro-Ninja for all the time and dedication you have given to Newgrounds and its users.
One of Newgrounds veteran musicians. @kelwynshade was quite the force here on Newgrounds! Learn about his journey on the site, why he left, and the brand change of his new name Full Steam Attack!
@TheThirdRates are running out of time and need your help! They're looking to get their album See What Stick vinyl fully backed! If you can help then please do! The full album is on Newgrounds to listen to if you're curious.
@NE-ON has made a FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN' MOD featuring his character in it. You can get the mod here! He is currently working on brining his passion project AdventNEON to the masses on the web! You can play the demo of that below!

@Zrcalo made his account last year and is now using it. I hate to tell you Zrcalo, but no, there is no light mode.
@Sashozz joined us back in February. I think Geometry Dash brought them here. Many a user has joined thanks to Geometry Dash, Madness, and FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN". Welcome aboard!
@SLLUU is a new artist on the scene! She is working on a NSFW art project.
@KettLovahr has recently joined us. They left DeviantArt and came to Newgrounds! Check out their works below!
@fearing has been on Newgrounds since 2005. He wanted to express his gratitude towards Newgrounds for his songs getting on the front page. He is also been developing a game for the past 2 years. He's working on exporting html5 builds from gamemaker. If you can assist him in this endeavor then please do. Also The Tank Tribune loves you fearing!
When the Nintendo Wii was selling like hotcakes, one of the best features on it was the Virtual Console. You could buy old NES, SNES, and N64 games on it for sure. There were also Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, Arcade, and TurboGrafx-16 games on it as well. A lot of these games you could experience for the first time! @The-Great-One made a Wii Virtual Console thread in the past. It was updated though with this revival thread to include suggested titles, an Editor's Pick, and when the Nintendo 3DS released to highlight the Virtual Console games on it which were handheld titles for the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Game Gear as well! It lasted a long time! Sadly the Virtual Console is no more and the Nintendo Switch with the NES Classic and SNES Classic is nice, but it doesn't hold a candle to what its predecessor did.
For the next couple of Matinee's, The Tank Tribune will be selecting favorites from different Newgrounds members on the site. To kick things off, The Tank Tribune has gone through the favorites of @The-Great-One and selected these ten movies for you. We hope you enjoy!
I've been wanting to do an Evening Edition for quite a long time now. I have had that Evening Edition header in my folder for quite sometime now. I apologize for the other headers appearance. I forgot to darken them as well. They will look better come the next time I do one of these nightly posts! I hope you all enjoyed this dip into the darkness. If you're a night owl and just now learning about the Tribune, you can enjoy it after hours as well after it is posted in the morning. With that said, I hope you have a sexy evening and I'll see ya'll next Monday Morning!

Good Morning Newgrounds! I wish I could say that with complete confidence, but there has been some troubling times here on Newgrounds lately. We had some laughs for April Fool's Day for sure and I hope you enjoyed the Tribune's trip back in time. Sadly though some users are going through turmoil and I humbly ask for your patience and understanding for them and to reach out to help if you can. That goes for any user on here. It is incredible that you can ask for help here and you will receive it. We are not trained therapists by any measure. We are open ears though. With that said, here's the hip happenings on Newgrounds.
@lokidnb informed us that one of our newest users and a dear friend to him @Pianorte passed away after being in a car crash. Before this event The Tank Tribune had featured two of his songs in the Phonograph. Since then all music from Pianorte has been taken from the site. He was new to the site and was already hitting his stride with his music. I fell in love with his music the moment I heard it browsing the Audio Portal. He will be missed. He is still included in the Featured Composers section even though his music has been removed. I'm sorry if anyone wasn't fortunate enough to hear his music. If you were fortunate enough to hear it or even talk with him, I am sorry for your loss. Rest in peace.
For April Fool's Day, Tom updated Pico's School to have non-violent gameplay with a nice story that has a happy ending. There is also a cameo from FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN' in it as well. The original has been put back, but you can play the updated version entitled Pico's School: Love Conquers All.
Pico Day is just around the corner! There are prizes for movies, games, art, and music! If you haven't made something yet, now is the time to do so! Get out there and make something for Pico Day! Tom will appreciate it just as much!

For April Fool's Day @TomFulp replaced the original Pico's School with an updated version. That version is now a stand alone game entitled Pico's School: Love Conquers All and it nabbed him his 20th Game Daily Feature! We close off this week with a new series by @TmsT winning the Daily Feature. It's called Pupper Paleolithic Ep1: Leader of the Pack Out.
In the latest episode of The Newgrounds Podcast, the boys just sit around and shoot the shit essentially. @VoiceByCorey talks about a strange obsession involving @KawaiSprite. @Xinxinix discusses some midnight hijinks. @PsychoGoldfish talks about his hair... not the hair on his head though, and I'll leave it at that. @KyleJohnKenowski also stopped by and talked to them about his new animation and music! Give a listen while on your lunch break! Be sure to read the update on their profile as well. They're looking for feedback on future segments.
These are the people who make Newgrounds possible. Thank you!
LexRodent is one of Newgrounds finest supporters. Always there to help the new composers that come to Newgrounds. Whether it is questions about copyright and sourcing, to lift a ban and give a second chance to composers who didn't know better, and to shut down thieves. LexRodent's keen ear is incredible. They can spot something that shouldn't be incredibly well! If you're looking to post your music on Newgrounds and are afraid something might happen to it or your works, LexRodent is the Audio Moderator to talk to. Thank you for the support you have given Newgrounds and the community LexRodent!
Back in 2011 @BoMToons talked to us about Chibi Knight, working with @poxpower and @Mockery, and Boss Bash. Which was nominated for The Tank Award for Best Game!

@JohnnyGuy has been going through a mid-life crisis. Some words of encouragement are welcome. He's also looking for pixel artists for NG: Zero Hour. If you're a pixel artist then shoot him a PM and see what you can do to help!
This week's featured artist is @jazzhat. He's been here since 2018 and a Supporter to boot. He recently introduced himself in the Intro Thread. He is an oil painter. He also partakes in something I am fond of myself called whittling. Check out his works below!

From @EdibleCastle and @andyopus came one of Newgrounds most famous series that seems to have been lost to time now. It was a fantastic series from beginning to end!

@LegendaryPanettone recently brought up that once again there were bots on Newgrounds, sending people messages about playing a game. It is quite obvious. I feel it is important though to give a word of caution to those. If you receive a link inviting you to play a game from a Newgrounds user, make absolutely sure that it is a link from Newgrounds and that it looks the way it is supposed to. DO NOT FOLLOW SUSPICIOUS LINKS! If it doesn't look like one of the following below then DO NOT CLICK IT! Also check the profile of the user, chances are it will be new and have nothing posted.
@thomasBaldwin made this thread back in February. It is still going and I have no idea what on earth is going on. If you want to try and make sense of this chaos then by all means.
@CheezNapkin made a thread back in 2006 for those going to school to share the things that irritate them just enough. The condition though was it had to be drawn in MS Paint.
There has been a lot going on Newgrounds lately. With the FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN' Jam and Flash Forward Jam wrapped up with Pico Day on the horizon. Madness Day will be here before you know it. If you're reading this and have been hesitant to post your work on Newgrounds out of fear of what people will say. Abandon that fear and just post it. Because in this world you only get one life and you are never promised tomorrow. Get your works out there and grow. Don't move too slowly either. That has been a regret of mine for years now. I don't want any of you to carry that same burden. It weighs on you more than you will ever know. I hope you all enjoy your morning.

Krinkels first entry in the Madness Combat series is turning five years old this week! A man dancing to the Chicken Dance and beating up everyone around him! Truly a classic that would flesh out into a full on narrative. To think that the first day to celebrate Madness is just around the corner!
RacistBassist is asking the important questions today. Such as is it gay if you have sex with your own clone. The arguments have been made in the past, but he wants to know more from the Newgrounds community!
Created by Shrapnel in 2001, this was a thread that although only lasted around a year, it certainly gathered quite the collection of information, spam, trolling, and all around insanity. The Wi/Ht? level up! Lounge created in 2002 would surpass this thread, standing at the time of this article at page 1,759.
Here are this week's Users of the Week! There was an error in the system so days 17, 18, and 19 were skipped and two people were chosen for the 20th. Congratulations to our Users of the Week!
The week can get people down sometimes. With all of the hustle and bustle and action packed drama that entails our lives, sometimes it's nice to just kickback and relax. Here are a few games to play to unwind on this Monday Morning.
I hope you have all enjoyed this debut issue of The Tank Tribune! With the redesign here on Newgrounds the creative possibilities seem endless! Who knows where the site will go in the future and the creative talents that will come forth? All I know is that I am ready to share the news of their endeavors with all of you!
Good Morning Newgrounds! This month just sort of flew by didn't it? Easter is just around the corner and not long after that we'll be at Pico Day before you know it! We've had some birthday celebrations last week! Bringing the legacy of Egoraptor back to life with a new generation. Honoring one of Newgrounds dedicated moderators and biggest fans! Remaking a classic during the era of the beard. Taking note of other podcasts here on Newgrounds. The Phonograph moving forward will be a hint of who will start next week. The last song not counting the outro Paper Dragon, will be the composer who starts next week's Phonograph. That's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Here are the hip happenings of Newgrounds!
This year's annual Pico Day will be Saturday May 1st! There are prizes for best animation, best game, best music, and best art! These are the people who make Newgrounds possible. Thank you!
Where to start with Malachy. One of the most helpful members of the site and most helpful moderators. After Rage came in with his thread for flagging abusive reviews got out of control, Malachy took it upon himself to come in and help clean up the mess on two separate occasions and still gives help to the reviewers of Newgrounds. Always looking to give support and help to those on the site in anyway he can. If he doesn't have the answer to your question, you can bet your ass that he knows who does. He is also one of the most highly underrated funny people on the site.
"this place is my home, man. This is where I landed when I started internetting way back in the day. I love the community and the content and Tom. I'm not fartistic by any sense but it makes my heart happy to see young folks get gud at it and do amazing things. If I can have a small part in supporting the next generation of video game developers, musicians, artists and animators then it is worth every cent."

Back in the late 2000's gas prices were at quite the high peak in a lot of areas. Ranging from $2.50 a gallon to over $4 or $5 a gallon depending on where you live. It was a problem for everybody in the country who were looking to get back to work at any job they could during the recession. Once you finally have the job and have to scramble for hours, most of your paycheck went into your gas tank. SardonicSamurai had a poetic yet disturbing way of venting his feelings about this period.
"It seems like any popular flash I make is created due to me venting. A group of friends wanted to go hang out in an area that was around 30-45 minutes away. I really wanted to go, but gas was $4.00+ and I had no money to fill my tank up. Instead of going out to party with friends, I created that flash as a joke. I was the voice actor for the Dollar, as well as every other character I've ever animated. I don't like asking for voice actors help, and I have a wide range of voices. I've constantly been told by friends to get into voice acting, and I'm just now starting to take those people seriously. I'm looking for a new microphone and hope to start voicing other peoples animations as well as my own!"

The week can get people down sometimes. With all of the hustle and bustle and action packed drama that entails our lives, sometimes it's nice to just kickback and relax. Here are a few games to play to unwind on this Monday Morning.
Work has been hell for this entire month. Getting home to a set schedule for my writing is getting easier. I have learned that I cannot be an early bird. I am a night owl through and through. I've tried to convert to an early bird and I just can't do it. It goes against my nature so much. It's back to burning the midnight oil for me. Good news for all of you though, because now I can the paper to you before 5AM once again! Hope you all enjoy your morning! I'll see all of you again after Easter... or will I?

This is typically where we showcase a piece of Newgrounds history from the Flash Portal, which is now just called The Portal for short. However we still have a ton of submission that are Under Judgement. Today I want everybody who reads the paper to go to The Portal and help clear up as many submissions as you can. What should stay on Newgrounds and what shouldn't. You as a Newgrounds Member have that choice during this phase. Every submission that gets posted to Newgrounds has to go through this phase no matter what.

This morning we officially debut the Matinee. It has been a feature in the past, but will be interchanged with the Console going forward. To start off this week, Tom noticed there have been a lot of cool movies here on Newgrounds that were not FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN' themed so he decided to highlight some in the thread Non-Funkin' Movies and asked others to share some new movies that have missed the spotlight. The Tank Tribune has collected his findings into this morning's Matinee. I hope you enjoy.
Sorry there was a delay with this issue. Scheduling conflicts at work made it to where I had to pump out a lot of this last night and sleep was required soon after. There is some exciting stuff coming next week for the Tribune though as well as a surprise for the upcoming Pico Day. If you're not a Follower on The Tank Tribune then become one and don't miss out on the big things coming!

@KrunchyFriedGames has questioned the number of games still Under Judgement. Remember we are the gatekeepers for content here at Newgrounds. It is important to get submissions through the Portal and defend against submissions that should not be here.
@HavryloThePigeon has noted that March 11 has been one year since COVID-19 was announced as a global pandemic. He is asking how people's lives have been affected by the coronavirus. Share your stories here with Newgrounds.

Mich is a musician who has been with Newgrounds for over ten years now. Since he started here on Newgrounds not only did he grow and learn, but he has been here to help other musicians throughout his time. He used Newgrounds as a way to build his craft.
"Personally I feel like I owe a lot of good things in my life to NG. I met my partner because of NG and we've been together for nearly 9 years. It indirectly also got me onto my career path, and got me into music production. I've also made a bunch of friends through here.
In summary I can't picture what my life would be like if it wasn't for NG's involvement."
Before The Interviewer was a thing, the NG Mag was a sub site of Newgrounds where interviews with Newgrounds members were done. It was called Developer Spotlight. The first interview was with Tom Fulp and it was conducted by @Septimus. See Tom's ideas for Newgrounds way back in the year 2001.
@Phobotech did a commissioned piece of art for an older member on the site named Chronamut. Phobotech made a thread weighing out his options. @The-Great-One made a thread in the Art Forum to caution artists when it comes to rights on commissions. @SourCherryJackreplied in the thread with some useful advice alongside a template for a contract. Keep in mind this contract is built specifically for the United States of America. If you're an artist offering commissions, keep your wits about and be careful.

This week's featured artist is @PerKGrok. He has a style that I have seen in the past in old medieval and Christian artwork. It was always a style that I've enjoyed.
From Newgrounds twin animators, Markus Vad Flaaten and Tommy Vad Flatten, comes this story of two siblings looking to spend money on a gift. A simple concept, with amazing execution from beginning to end.
"The origins of this tale is actually a one-page comic we made for fun. It was called "Caz & P", and had 12 square pictures. Markus filled the first square, and I did the second, he the third, and so on. The concept was to not plan anything. I didn't know what Markus wanted to happen, and he didn't know what I was going to draw. There were two main characters: A guy with a cassette (audio tape) for a head (Caz), and one with a pear for a head (P). The heads were as large as their bodies, and their bodies looked like kid bodies. They didn't have eyes or facial details. The first square had them both standing next to eachother, and then they were talking and one of them god kidnapped by a giant flower. Basically.
Anyways, this comic was hanging on our wall, and I thought the characters were so cool that we ought to make an animation with them. So I told Markus and we started to script. The story was mainly my idea, and most of the scenes and ideas spawned when we were about to sleep. We wrote down a lot of ideas, both random and specific, big and small. And then we chose the best ideas and wrote a script with lines for each character. 75% of our ideas never made it into the animation!, by the way! We also planned what kind of music we wanted, what kind of backgrounds, what kind of drawing style and stuff. The thing we decided last was the ending."

@sirtom93. What an event that was. This user said that he was going to burn down his school and use other forms of violence. He would later on state that it was a joke, but it wasn't taken as a joke. @WadeFulp entered the thread with the iconic line...
From there, Newgrounds member @deckheadtottie was able to get a hold of the authorities where sirtom93 was. He was caught, arrested, put on trial, and served time in prison. Moderator @Rig detailed everything in this news post. Multiple games and movies came out after this event. One being How I Buy Petrol?. Newgrounds has contacts all over the world. We stick together. @ZhengHe has made a call to action for all of Newgrounds to vote on submissions in the Portal. Remember, we're not like YouTube that has bots approve and disapprove submissions. It is up to Newgrounds members to decide what stays and what goes in the portal. We're also responsible for moderating submissions as well. We run this site together in a lot of ways. Remember this as well, some of your favorite movies and games on Newgrounds are only here because members like you, members like me, and members throughout the site helped pass them through the Portal. I'll borrow a quote from ZhengHe here.
"Just imagine all those talented artists and programmers waiting weeks for their entries to make it through the portal. It's got to be pretty frustrating. Maybe frustrating enough to make them give up uploading anything new. If you want to help Newgrounds still healthy and relevant one of the easiest ways to do that is to vote on some of this entries. Even a single vote helps. Please vote and thank you for your time."
Last Week's Daily Features from the Portal as posted through P-Bot's Postings are listed here. We start the week off with @Butzbo winning his sixth Game Daily Feature and tenth Daily Feature overall for his game 'Brain-Toasting Dungeon'. @casvdp who we last saw when they won Best of the Month for the retelling of Ratatouille, returns this year with a retelling of The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, picking up his fourteenth Daily Feature. @GuyUngerNL picks up his fourth Daily Feature for a love letter to Flash and Newgrounds with (INSERT TITLE HERE). @illwillpress picks up a Daily Feature for another entry in the Foamy The Squirrel series, particularly the Island Series. @MANtikora picks up his third Daily Feature for his biggest and most ambitious project to date; two years of labor and love with Madness Combat - Teleport Interference. @MugiMikey picks up his third Daily Feature for Sonic's Prime Delivery Service. This week we place a much deserved spotlight on larrynachos. A musician, animator, artist, and game developer. Many newcomers here on Newgrounds probably discovered him through the Newgrounds Arcade. For the veterans here, especially in the Audio Portal, know his contributions to anything he can get his hands on. He's always there to give advice on a project. Team up and supply his skills where they are needed. His love for Newgrounds is incredible, his dedication cannot be fathomed in just a mere couple of words. Thank you larrynachos, for all you do for the site.

We have a masterpiece. A spaghetti western about a man with a prosthetic foot. There is a lot that can be said about this movie, but I feel our own Hans Van Harken says it best.
"Man, this project for me was a pillar in my life. I started it in... 2008. I had been going to an animation school in Emeryville near Pixar. I had left everything in Spain to move to California and pursue my dream of making movies. I signed up to this school that had a social program, for the first year you do all Liberal Arts classes to get them over with and for the rest of the years, its all just core animation classes. I was about to finish my first year of Bullshit classes when I was kicked out of the school out of no where (it's a long story). Basically I didn't sign one measly paper. So, while I went to animation school, I never studied animation. Maybe in the end that's good, because I never would see my self animating professionally.
Regardless, I was in a really low point in my life. I stopped making Kane I was mentally and emotionally lost. I also couldn't bring myself to animating Kane cause I had gotten to the part right before they board their horses. And I had no clue how to animate those fucking things. After about a year of not touching that animation. I finally got myself on my feet and decided to face this thing. Every friend who had seen what I had so far told me I needed to get it done. And they were right. With the help of ZekeySpaceyLizard in one shot. The one that reveals the cliff up ahead before Kane bravely jumps over it. I literally sat down. and said to myself "Hans, you're not getting up for anything out of this chair until this movie is finished." And for about 14-15 hours straight I was stuck in a trans. I literally didn't care about anything. I literally didn't even get up to shit or piss. NOTHING. I was animating shots left and right in no order on top of my animatic.
Until I got to a point where I was scrolling through the timeline looking for another shot to animate. And I kept going and going... and going until I reached the end... And I realized in disbelief "I'm done". I'm going to go ahead and admit this, but I cried. This was big for me. This brought back so much energy in me. I had been in an all time low in my life. I clicked submit on Newgrounds and walked out of the door. I was living in Berkeley at the the time. And I walked all the way to San Francisco. and then I walked some more into the night. I didn't sleep. I walked until it was morning, and I didn't sleep I kept walking and walking into the next night, and didn't sleep. Until the next morning I walked all the way back home read some reviews and crashed on my bed. I think I slept through the whole day and into the next morning.
Newgrounds has always meant so much to me. It was where I've met the best people in the world. The kind that restores your faith in humanity. The kind that settles the wonder of how or why we've survived so long as a species. And to be nominated by the site was a very big deal for me."

Throughout all of the photoshop threads on Newgrounds, the one that is the granddaddy of the all is when Newgrounds at the will of @WadeFulp photoshopped Joshua Bend. A Newgrounds regular who had a picture with Wade. This picture is so iconic here on Newgrounds that when other members meet Tom or Wade they strike the same pose.
Welcome back to the Newgrounds Kitchen. Today's recipe comes from @Prinzy2. It is a delicious fried chicken that is Newgrounds tested and kid approved!
I made a pretty good fried chicken one time. It was pretty good because my buddy's 3 year old ate it, and we all know how fussy those little bastards can be. It's been a while, and I didn't write it down, so I'll have to use a template and throw in the ingredients I used. With all good things in life, the key is patience. A day at least.
INGREDIENTS
12 chicken thighs and/or drumsticks (cooks choice on skin and bones)
1 qt buttermilk
2 teaspoons seasoning salt
STEP 1: Let that all soak together for 12-24 hours in refrigerator, making sure chicken is submerged.
For the dredging mixture:
3 cups Flour
1/2 cup Corn Starch
2 Tbsp Seasoning salt
2 Tsp Smoked Paprika
1 Tsp Old Bay Seasoning
1 Tsp MSG
STEP 2: Pat dry chicken with paper towel and dredge chicken in mixture Then let sit in mixture for 12 - 24 hours in refrigerator so it turns into a paste/like substance around chicken. Re-dredge for extra crispy chicken
STEP 3: For cooking you'll want a large deep pot, candy thermometer (for monitoring oil temp), tongs, and a meat thermometer.
STEP 4: Heat 2-4 qts of peanut oil to 375*F and place 4 pieces of chicken in at a time while keeping an eye on the oil temp and the color of the chicken batter. Keep oil between 325*F and 375*F, making tiny adjustments to stove as needed.
STEP 5: Cook pieces until golden brown, and remove from oil. Be sure to check for an internal temp of 165*F with meat thermometer. For me it took 6 about minutes in the fryer, and occasionally putting chicken back into the fryer.
Now that I've written all that, I'm having second thoughts. Kitchens are dangerous and people are dumb, so I'll leave it to your discretion if you want to put a deep-fryer recipe on there. I do make a deadly Greek Salad, can't burn down your house making that unless you're Homer Simpson.

The Liar was in three parts and was an old tale told by Sykohyko. Many of you probably know him more for Neenja as well as Abo & Karo.
"The Liar is based on an old Armenian story. I've always loved epics, fables and fantasy worlds and Armenia is full of them. I know I mostly do comedy, but I'm more into that stuff. It's just harder to achieve the kind of quality those stories deserve. Even the Liar is disappointing to me as far as quality goes. Again something I plan to attempt in the future."

Welcome back to the Newgrounds Kitchen! Today we have an exclusive recipe from the Supporter Party Forum. It comes from @GriffinLancer and it's recipe for beef stew! Perfect for a dinner with friends and family! To see the original recipe then you need to Become a Supporter.
So, I've been working on this recipe for awhile. Just taking bits and pieces of other recipes of Beef Stew, and heavily inspired by Chef Jean-Pierre's take on stew, I figured I'd give up the goods and show off what it looks like, after I post the recipe.
INGREDIENTS
3 lbs (1.36kg) of chuck roast, cut into 2-3 inch (5-7cm) pieces.
a dozen pearl onions, or 1 cup (226g) of yellow onion, diced.
a bottle of port wine.
12 baby brussels sprouts
12 carrots, cut into lengths similar to the beef.
29 oz (822g) Tomato puree.
14.5 oz (411g) diced tomatoes.
2 Yukon gold potatoes (300g), diced.
1lb (453g) Button mushrooms, cut into 4ths or 6ths.
1-and-half quart Beef broth (1L give or take)
4oz (113g) flour
Kosher Salt (Or regular, peasant salt if you have that)
Coarse ground pepper (Or just the canned stuff.)
A branch of rosemary and thyme (destemmed and roughly chopped)
STEP 1: Start with opening the bottle of Port and taking a big whiff. You smell that booze? Take a sip, loser. You're gonna need some lubrication because you totally forgot to Mise en place. You don't even remember French class, but you know that this thing is important, and forgetting now fills you with anxiety.
STEP 2: Take another drink. Realize you need this for cooking, despite how good it tastes, and now you close the bottle.
STEP 3: Okay, in a large pan, lubricate with olive oil and bring up to temp. Take your pieces of beef and caramelize them, strain the excess fat, put it aside. That brown stuff in the pan? Save it. Deglaze with the port. (Just pour some wine into the pan. Trust me.)
STEP 4: Now, pour that reduction into a bowl to hold for a minute. Now put a pot down, lubricate, and toss in those peeled pearl onions and caramelize them; shouldn't take long- pearl onions cook quick...a little too quick.
STEP 5: With haste, throw in the Mushrooms and add some Kosher Salt so the fungus sweats out all its water. Now let it cook so all the moisture evaporates. You'll know you're doing it right when you the mushrooms start to brown a bit. Now toss in more wine to get that sweet, sweet fond off the pot. That broth's ready to go in, along with that beef reduction we made earlier. Now toss in the puree and the diced tomatoes, the potatoes, and the rosemary and thyme. Stir it a bit. You'll notice you may not have enough liquid. You're wrong. Pour a little more wine.
STEP 6: So, a little thing about thickening your stew. People tend to overlook the importance of when to incorporate flour to your stew to allow it to thicken. I'm telling you, now is the time to do it. Otherwise, you're going to be walking around with a quarter pound of glue in your gut, and that's no bueno.
STEP 7: Have you ever made paper mache? Water and flour. Remember your 6th grade Halloween mask you made with that glue? You probably have it somewhere laying around in storage, or you destroyed it, like the non-conformist you are. Point is, flour makes good glue. You need to get that gluten nice and loose so it mixes properly through the stew.
STEP 8: Get a double-mesh strainer and a wire whip or a rubber spatula and sink it into the pot so half the container is submerged. Now add that flour and strain it through, stirring as you do this. This is how you incorporate flour to thicken sauces and stews. Once that's done, stir your pot, and cover it. Now simmer it for 2 hours.
STEP 9: Contemplate drinking the rest of the wine because you're a 20-something with nothing going on in your life right now, and it seems like a good idea. You're in your PJs and slippers. Who's gonna see you? The dinner party's in 3 hours.
STEP 10: 2 hours later, check the stew. You should have a beautiful thick sauce and tender pieces of beef and veg. I'm not kidding, you're going to love it.
STEP 11: Oh shit, that's right. You forgot the sprouts and carrots, idiot.
STEP 12: Start a quick pot of water, blanch the sprouts for 2-3 minutes. You'll know its done when things seem 'brighter' than usual.
STEP 13: Quickly wash off your pan and re-lubricate with some butter and salt/pepper. Chop your carrots into lengths, toss it into the pan along with those blanched baby brussels sprouts. Toss vigorously. Turn off the heat. Plate up the stew, add the carrots and sprouts. Voila. It's probably the most effort you've put into a stew, but you've convinced yourself it's worth it.
STEP 14: Your friends cancelled. You now have stew for a week, and a bottle of port for yourself. Imbibe carelessly.

Things have been going better for me recently. I have now switched over from being a night owl to an early bird, so I'm awake at 7AM and asleep around 10PM-11PM. The shift has been beneficial and I've been able to get more work done than I normally would. The Tank Tribune will always be here to keep you updated on Newgrounds. Hopefully if we get a Literature Portal putting this paper together will become easier. One can hope though. Enjoy your morning Newgrounds!
