Good Morning Newgrounds! For all the American readers Happy Patriot Day! There have been amazing acts of kindness, support from the community as a whole, and it started reminding me of how this site has come together over the years to produce some of the greatest talents and incredible creators we have ever seen. This week I wanted to dedicate more to the users and the community by acknowledging one of Newgrounds longest standing users and greatest Newgrounds Supporter, your Dad and mine, Fro. I also wanted to talk about The Tank Awards, where we honored the animators, developers, musicians, and people who make Newgrounds a happening place. The Sunday Phonograph this morning features selections from past winners of Best Musician. The Sunday Console is also outfitted with past winners of Best Game. I hope you had a big breakfast, because this week's issue is a big one!

Fro has been with Newgrounds for over 16 years now. He started out under the username Corky52. During this time he would become a prominent member of the site. A member of the Review Request Club, writing quality reviews for all the portals. Although he wasn't the creator of The Work Out Thread, he has been not only an inspiration, but a guiding force to all those who look to better themselves. He is also co-host of The Dom and Fro Show, a podcast series here on Newgrounds! His ultimate goal though is to find anyway he can support the site and its user base. Recenlty user ForNoReason had his laptop and recording equipment stolen. Fro not only set-up a GoFundMe to help ForNoReason have his stuff replaced, but he donated to it himself. The GoFundMe has reached its goal. That is just one of many ways Fro has helped out Newgrounds!
We should all be thankful that Fro is not only a supporter of Newgrounds, but a supporter for all of us. A Husband. A Father. A Legacy.

The Annual Newgrounds Tank Awards
Last week's Flash Portal History choice got me to thinking about The Tank Awards. For six years, Newgrounds gave out awards for the Best Movie, Best Game, Best Musician, and Best User. Each submission that was nominated either chosen directly or won Best of the Month throughout the year. This week we highlight the different movies that won Best Movie. If you want to see them all then click the image above to load a playlist. Please note that the winner of Best Movie in 2010 The Pigpen was removed by its author and is not part of the playlist. It is available on Felix Colgrave's YouTube Channel.

RECIPES FROM THE NEWGROUNDS COMMUNITY
Welcome to the newest section of The Tank Tribune, the Newgrounds Kitchen! Where we will share recipes from many of Newgrounds members. To start this off is a recipe from Newgrounds Cooking show created by @agro23 entitled Deep Fried Live. In that episode there are also recipes for a martini and Black & Tan Cookies.
Tako Chip Cookies
Included in this recipe are several items with deserve further scrutiny. Cocoa nibs are the edible part of the cacao bean, and the source material for all forms of chocolate. Used in their raw state, they add a powerful bitter-chocolate flavor and a nice crunch. If you don't like crunchy cookies, get rid of the nibs. If you're unable to find a nice fine grain sea salt, kosher salt will work fine. DO NOT, however, substitute all-purpose flour for the cake flour. You'll be sorry if you do.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 stick (8 Tbsp) unsalted butter
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cup cake flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp sea salt (fine grain)
- 1/2 tsp fresh grated nutmeg (to taste)
- 8-9 oz (1.25-1.5 cup) chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup cocoa nibs
STEP 1: Preheat oven to 365. In a standup mixer with the pastry paddle, cream the butter. Add the brown sugar and cream until smooth. Mix in the egg and vanilla until smooth.
STEP 2: Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt into the wet mixture. (Note: It is very important to use cake flour, not all purpose flour.) Grate the nutmeg into the bowl and mix until smooth.
STEP 3: Add chocolate chips and cocoa nibs, then fold with a rubber spatula until even. Cover two baking sheets with parchment paper, then spoon out the batter in tablespoon dollops. Bake for 7-8 minutes, or until the edges turn brown (best to watch them closely at the end).
STEP 4: Remove, cool, eat. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.

Here are a few games to play to unwind on this Sunday Morning. This week features games that were awarded a Tank Award for Best Game of the Year!
This has been another fun filled week with the Tribune.
