I have been feeling tired lately, more than usual these past two weeks. I’ve been feeling better though, so I hope to be able to work more on The Tank Tribune for all of you. I’m gonna be spending this weekend cleaning up the paper overall.
Brazil has banned access to X/Twitter. A lot of Brazilian artists on other social/art platforms this weekend. Tom is looking for those from Brazil to sound off. He is asking that you share your works with the site and give yourself an introduction in the thread linked above. Those who have answered the roll call include @UnevenPrankster, @LoboF, @HENOOB, @Arzonaut, @vrds022, @YamiYinYang, and beloved NSFW artist @Edeshye.
@Arzonaut is hosting a Brazil Art Contest to celebrate all of the new users to the site! The theme of the contest is to draw an original character representing Brazil through a theme or vibe. From being in a Brazil setting, wearing Brazilian colors, or eating or drinking Brazilian foods and drinks. You don’t have to limit yourself to one character either!
Judges include @Arzonaut, @Abstract, @CometZz, @MitsuTan, @Kazukoto, and @MatthewLopz. The deadline is October 13th | 11:59 PM EST. Upload your piece to the Art Portal with the tag “brazil day 2024”. Lux is a golden yellow critter called a Starbunkle, a magical critter associated with fortune and jinxes. He is the 3rd smallest of his species but has the biggest ego, but also the biggest heart.
Lux when he wants to look impressive or cute, he plays the cute card or boasts about how great he is. but when things go serious, he drops the act and make sure the people he loves are tended to.

Good Morning Newgrounds! I haven’t been working on a lot of Newgrounds projects lately, because I’ve been on vacation and simply resting and relaxing. I have a birthday party to put together today, so I’m looking to get this out as quick as I can. I will see you all in September to celebrate my 18th year on Newgrounds though!
You have seen the Best of the Month featured on The Tank Tribune before. There has been an overhaul of how this works going forward. The standard was prizes given out for the Top Voted Movie and Game for the month as chosen by Newgrounds members based on Experience Points. This has not changed, but now the Movies and Games are separated and you can change your votes before the deadline. Also for the first time ever, Art and Music from the Art Portal and Audio Portal can be voted on.
$100 in prizes are already being given out to the Top 5 Movies and Games, with a $200 bonus given to each movie and game based on original content. Now $100 will also be awarded to the first place audio and first place art.
If you want to help donate to these prize funds, then you can go to the Supporter page and donate $50 a month. Only if you have the funds to do so. @PuffballsUnited, @53xy83457, and @TeamTrivial have already pledged money towards the prize funds.

Oh and my trip to the dentist went well. I have wisdom teeth coming in. Thankfully though I have enough room in my mouth for them to come in, so I’m not concerned with removing them at this time. These weary bones have grown tired. Despite my age, I feel older than I should. I can’t operate at the workhorse levels that I used to. Stress doesn’t help either. Since I was 13 I’ve had a bad back due to scoliosis, my spine curves right at my neck. I’ve had bad knees. I’m going deaf in one ear. About ten years ago is when I had to get prescription glasses. I’m an old man trapped in whatever the hell my body is supposed to be. I’ve had to slow down my workflow because of this. I’m still dedicated to giving my all to Newgrounds. I’ll see all of you next week!

@Razur-Drawshas announced this year’s Newgrounds Midsummer Rumble. The name has been changed to SUMMERGROUNDS SHOWDOWN. It is a month-long art challenge where you draw a character from the prompt sheet for each day, starting August 1st to August 31st. Everyone can participate in the challenge! @whimsical-wifeis hosting a new collaboration. The goal is to draw a new variant of your favorite Pokemon. It can be regional, origin, or any other form that has been shown in the series. You will also come up with a new Pokedex entry as well. Here are the guidelines below.
GUIDELINES
1. You may draw a minimum of one Pokemon and a maximum of 3 Pokemon. Whether you draw 3 unique Pokemon or choose to create an entire evolution line is up to you.
2. The collab will be T-Rated, but only for darker themes in your Pokemon's Dex entry. No sexual themes or visual gore on your designs.
3. Only use regions that are referenced in actual Pokemon media. regions from the main games are fine, as well as regions from spin off titles. just dont make up a region.
4. You're allowed to use a Pokemon another person has used, but only if you select a different region or gimmick to base it off of. (i.e, if someone made a Unovan Charizard, it would still be okay for you to use Charizard just as long as it isn't based off of Unova.)
5. Please try to keep Dex entries brief! I'd say 180 characters is about the limit, but it's very much preferred if you dont push it for space reasons.
6. Submit your image with a transparent background! If you can't do that yourself, let me know and I'll try to make it transparent for you.
7. The maximum canvas size for entries is 1000 x 1000! going smaller is okay. you entry may be submitted before the collab goes up! the collab tag is #pokemon-variance-collab
8. The deadline is October 15th, 2024! hope that gives everyone enough time. The deadline may be extended if needed.
9. Both un-scouted and scouted artists are welcome, but you may have your entry turned down or asked to be revised if it seems you made something rushed and low quality just to get into the collab.

3manonMusic has started up a new collaboration for the Audio Portal. The goal is to make one huge song that everyone can contribute to! It is inspired by ENTROPIC EQUILIBRIUM, a 15 minute song with more than 50 musicians making it. Here are the guidelines below.

@stupidvampirehas been going through living conditions hell. The public transportation was in a small forest town and not in a major city, plus it was only for college students. The landlord messed up his lease so the first month he was living with an animal hoarder. The public transportation situation made getting a job hard. With no job, no money, which meant he was serviced with a “Pay or Leave” notice. Luckily a friend on Discord has helped them with a place to live. They’re still open to doing art commissions. Good Morning Newgrounds! This is the official return of The Tank Tribune! It’s a new era for us all! Welcome to my Patreon @YendorNG! Happy to have you here! The Newgrounds Audio Deathmatch has made its return! The Best of June and the Treasure Hunt winners have been announced! I recently spoke about removing the Featured Artist section of this paper, due to how the licensing worked here on Newgrounds. I put more thought into it and realized I had no idea what I was talking about. I made a thread in the Art Forum, to gauge some thoughts and possibly find answers as to whether or not I would be misusing people's works or Newgrounds as a whole. I am pleased to say that the Featured Artist section will be staying on The Tank Tribune. Today is my birthday, I'm 34 years old now. Without further ado. Here are the hip happenings of Newgrounds!

@austin, one of Newgrounds earliest users from the year 2000, is wondering if another older user by the name of @Pimp is still around. Pimp has been with the site since 1999 and was the first user to reach Level 60 on Newgrounds! The whereabouts of Pimp and who he is has become one of Newgrounds cryptid lores.

Good Morning Newgrounds! This issue will be the closing of an era for The Tank Tribune. There have been changes to the site that have been made in which I will be formatting a lot of sections. Featured Artist will no longer be a part of The Tank Tribune. The reasoning is a lot of artists have their licensing terms listed as “You may not use this work for any purposes”. I weighed a lot on whether or not it would be right to showcase someone’s work when they don’t want it used for “any purposes”. If I can figure something out it will return. Flash Portal History will be changing to Newgrounds History to include a lot of what makes Newgrounds one of the best sites to release your work on. This issue is containing just some General News. For those who haven’t been caught up, I have been dealing with memory issues as well as my day job draining me. My worst habit has always been putting more on my plate than I should. I need to find a proper work balance while juggling my personal life. Rex and I will be at a convention, the Southeast Game Exchange. He will be doing photography for me, while I cover the event.
There was a bug where users were being logged out after one year despite activity. Something stopped the reset session for active users. It has been resolved though! If you were having problems with NordVPN. If you use NordVPN or a VPN in general and it is giving you issues, be sure to reply in the thread. If you’re not able to, you can always E-Mail Support.
@PsychoGoldfish will be cleaning up the feed systems this Monday. This includes the Followed Artist Feed, Everything Feed, and if you’re a reader of The Tank Tribune the News Feed. There are multiple collaborations with deadlines coming up in July.
@PFINNEY is hosting a fan art contest for their new series SLUDGE BROTHERS. You can draw one of four characters from the show, with sticker packs as prizes for each. Best overall art will win sticker packs and a limited edition T-Shirt! To enter simply post your picture to the Art Portal with the tag “sludgebrothers” or “sludge-brothers”. This challenge runs for two weeks from July 6th to July 20th.
@Razur-Draws is bringing back the Newgrounds Midsummer Rumble. An art contest that involves drawing Newgrounds characters. Think of it like Inktober, but Newgrounds themed. He is looking for new and old entries from Newgrounds to be part of the art challenge! Share your thoughts in the comments of Razur-Draws news post.
@RGPAnims is hosting a meetup in Melbourne, Australia on August 17th from 4PM-10PM. They’ll be working alongside @StudioShowoff to host the event.
