“LOADING…JUST A SEC”
LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Good Morning Newgrounds! Sorry for the delay on this one. I ended up with a terrible migraine that hindered my workflow. There’s been collaborations, animation jams, a fun comic to read, a blast from the past evolving further, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. This new format is easier to work with, I just need to manage it into my work schedule. On a side note, Game Informer is making a return, with past issues available digitally and in print once again, only this time you don’t need to go to GameStop to get a subscription. Now here are the hip happenings of Newgrounds!
The-Great-One
Since last week was successful, The Tank Tribune is looking to feature the soundtrack from The LAST SODA on Earth: Strange Scavenger by IcyMire32. There are also a selection of other tracks by IcyMire32 included.

Pass the Page Collab
A game that @Joshua would play with his friends. The game works with an artist given only the page before their page. They can’t see the past comic pages, just the page before theirs. It’s like a game of telephone, but making a comic out of it. This collaboration was done by Joshua and 8 other artists, who are @3rr0r4rtz, @Charlie57913, @Featherwaite, @Greytorr, @guri-gure, @SuperJeffoMan, @TehDoodleware, and @X3NDER. Give it a read this Sunday Morning!
Gretel and Hansel
@makopudding and @DJKingDB the artists behind Gretel and Hansel and Gretel and Hansel Part 2 with music by @mikerudolph and @FEASTofFETUS are coming to Steam with a third entry in the series as one single game this year. Console ports will come in 2026! mikerudolph and FEASTofFETUS are returning to compose for the third entry and are joined by a new composer! If you’re interested in the details then check out the Gretel and Hansel Discord and the Gretel and Hansel Website. Below is just a small sneak peek of Part 3. Check out makopudding’s post for more screenshots.
Be sure to check out Gretel and Hansel Part 1 and Part 2 in this morning’s Sunday Console.

Back in January of this year @littlbox started a Kickstarter to fund a documentary talking about Newgrounds. This project was started back in 2023. The Kickstarter was a success and the documentary has now entered pre-production. I had the chance to ask littlbox about the documentary and his past filmmaking work.
The-Great-One: This is not your first step into documentary making. When I interviewed you back in 2020, the latest project you were working on was entitled Your Friend Logan. Will you be bringing any techniques of that documentary into this one? What have you learned from making that documentary that you will take with you making the Newgrounds Documentary?
littlbox : Logan was a huge stepping stone for me. I was learning how to put together a feature on the fly, along with the importance of collaboration and organization. Something I wish I had done better was craft a narrative from the get-go and see where it took the film, rather than relying on interviewees to info dump in retrospect, which I feel I did too much of in that film. So, approaching the NG doc, I have a better idea of what story to tell going in.
The other big learning curve was distribution. I went into Logan quite naively expecting the film to premiere at a large festival and get distribution, not realizing the full extent of oversaturation and underbuying occurring in independent film today. As such, I spent some time crash coursing through creative distribution strategies, and am planning on implementing these to ensure that OUATOTI sees a more prompt and better organized release than Logan has been able to achieve.
The-Great-One: Now that the crowdfund has reached its goal, any details you can give us about the documentary? Who will be interviewed? What history will be covered? A chance to see a teaser trailer?
littlbox: We’re currently in pre-production to film the majority of interviews this summer, between May and July, within the US and parts of Canada and the UK. Nearly all Newgrounds staff, past and present, are onboard, along with a number of notable users. I won’t disclose all names, since there are a few choice people we are still in the process of securing, but you can see a selection of our interviewees listed on the Kickstarter campaign, as well as on our Twitter and Instagram.
Our driving narrative is the story of the site’s formation and perseverance through every era of the Internet, in spite of opposing odds, and the ups and downs of the site’s existence and the community. I feel it will be a really good chance to look at these eras of the site and internet culture within the context of their time, and give people a fresh appreciation for what people, mostly kids, were able to, and continue to, achieve within this space.
The closest we have to a teaser at the moment is our Kickstarter campaign trailer. Once we collect the remainder of our interviews and begin post-production, a new teaser will be in the works.
We still haven’t achieved all funding for the film, so once filming is completed, I’ll be reaching out to potential sponsors to round out the remainder of the post-production and distribution budget.
The-Great-One: Will you be looking to any Newgrounds talent to be part of the documentary's production? Composers, animators, voice actors, filmmakers, etc.? If so, is there anybody you have in mind?
littlbox: Absolutely. I worked with several talented NG animators on the Logan documentary, and I would be honored to work with them again on this. Prolific collab organizer and former @FlowDownStream peer @Kolumbo is going to help with organizing animation, and fellow former FDS peer @Sro has offered to help with some of the music. There are a myriad of other users I’d love to have involved, and several talented folks who have reached out to offer their services. This is one of the most important aspects of the doc to me, and I can’t wait to get to a point to bring these users together on this project.
The-Great-One: A Newgrounds Documentary has been brought up before by user @NaKrown back in 2009. It was going to be called Everything By Everyone. He collected donations for it, but ended up bailing on the project. You signed up for Newgrounds 5 years after this. Were you aware of this past effort when looking to start your own documentary take? How can you give confidence to those who remember being shamed in the past?
littlbox: Very much so. If you watch the Kickstarter trailer, you may recognize that the interviews from 2009 that we display and refer to are from this project. These have been very helpful in giving us context of the site from that era and will be used in the final documentary.
I’m not going to claim I’m the most active participant on the site, but I owe a lot to Newgrounds. My creative direction in life and several best friends I can directly tie back to the site. If I can put together an earnest portrait of the site, and its rich history and community, it’s the least I can do to give back.
The-Great-One: Anything you want to say to The Tank Tribune readers?
littlbox: Thanks for reading this! And thank you TGO! I think it's really important to have something like this, so I'm glad you continue to publish these.
On the series A100, @Aalasteir also sat down and spoke to littlbox about his work on the Newgrounds Documentary and the stuff he loves on the site.
@kindclutter has been on Newgrounds since 2020 with their five year Newgrounds anniversary coming up in June. They have produced many movies for the site from Mr. Ingredient to STEREO and recently Can I Check Your Fluids?. Check out their latest movie and their other works.

The week can get people down sometimes. With all of the hustle and bustle and action packed drama that entails our lives, sometimes it's nice to just kickback and relax. Today we’re looking at the darker Point 'n Click Adventure Games here on Newgrounds.
If a game is not loading properly for you, then install the Newgrounds Flash Player. There are instructions on how to do so. If it is still not working or you don't understand, create a thread in the Where is / How to / Help! Forum for assistance.
I don’t have much of an outro to say here. I’ve been dealing with issues lately. Hopefully it won’t lead to memory issues like before. A simple migraine, I just hope it doesn’t grow into a problem. I’ll keep it short and see you next week.
