Good Morning Newgrounds! If you missed out on yesterday's post, this issue was posted yesterday through my Patreon for those in the Producer Tier! Shout out to @Aalasteir and @TomFulp for becoming Producers! Now it is available here on Newgrounds, every Sunday like normal. Newgrounds is now on the 2-Factor Authorization login, which means you need to be able to login to your E-Mail as well to login to your account. Make sure the password for your Newgrounds and your E-Mail are not the same. They need to be different. Pixel Day is in two days! There are two collaborations going on right now. One for composers and the other for composers, voice actors, and writers. wamyremy is still here! TheGorondorf is back! All of this and more! Email 2FA and Pixel Day!

For those logging in to Newgrounds, you are having to put in a code now through your E-Mail. This is normal and although there have been some bugs, it appears to be working fine. If you have found any bugs then you can E-Mail Newgrounds Support for help.

The 9th Annual Pixel Day is this Tuesday! If you haven’t finished your entry for Pixel Day now would be the time for those finishing touches. If you haven’t started something and want to push yourself for an entry, then go for it! Remember to tag your entry with the "pixelday2024" tag. If your entry is making its world premiere on Newgrounds then tag it with the "pixelday2024-compo". If you have posted it outside of Newgrounds, just use the normal "pixelday2024" tag. Pixel Day Project Teaser

@ProsciuttoMan, @Paytonio, @Dry, and @Roverkibb, were looking back at ProsciuttoMan’s game portfolio and realized how his game Gate of Hades has become outdated over the years. His goal is to reimagine the game. Then a realization of Pixel Day coming up, they have decided to remake the game with the following. He will also be working with @PostElvis again for this project.

• A brand new, completely original soundtrack
• Completely reimagined character designs and sprites: made to give off the feel of an old Sega Genesis game
• 12 unique levels set in 6 distinct worlds
• Somewhere between 4 and 6 new enemies with unique behavior, depending on how you count things
• Some much-needed visual feedback for players to really sell enemies dying

@TeffyD is looking to make a soundtrack for a fake Newgrounds Mall. The goal is to make “mall music” or muzak. He has supplied a playlist of mall music as an example. Below is information on this collaboration.

How do I join/submit?

I'll try to make it as easy as possible, so if you wanna join all you gotta do is DM me your track via Dropbox, WeTransfer or Google Drive, You don't need to join a server specifically for this project. Once the collab is finished and released you can just post it whenever you want, I'll be combining them all into one long track with some background stuff for added ambience.

REQUIREMENTS:

• To reiterate, think about what "Mall Music/Elevator Music/Muzak" means to you, and make it a song.
• Your track must be no longer than 3 minutes and 30 seconds. In general Muzak is typically pretty short, probably 2:30 to 3 minutes. it focuses on catchiness and trying blend into the noise if that makes sense.
• Track must be a 16-bit WAV File format. I know Newgrounds only allows MP3s so it sounds pointless, but its for mixing sake.
• After the collab is released and you want to post your single to NG, tag with "NG-Mall-Collab". It's so I can add it to a playlist.
• Nothing A-rated. I don't know how you'd do that but thought I'd just state it now.
• That's it.

Follow the thread for additional information and questions. The deadline is February 15th.

@JAMRIOT and @AhWham are teaming up to host a collaboration for bedtime stories. Teams must consist of a writer, a narrator, and a composer. Someone to write the bedtime story, someone to read the bedtime story, and a composer to make the backing track of a bedtime story. The goal of your piece to be something chill and relaxed to go to sleep to. If you’re having trouble finding teammates, check out The Jamcave for writers and NGAP Collab Center for narrators and musicians.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR TEAM’S ENTRY

• Send @JAMRIOT a .wav file over Discord.
• Whichever team member sends the entry should include a credits of those who worked on it.
• Submissions should be between 5-10 minutes long.
• All pieces will be compiled in an Audio Project on Newgrounds.
• The Deadline is by the end of March 20th EST.

@Bosa has released a brand new track. Going back to a style he was known for when he started out on the site. A combination of country, Celtic, and orchestral. Give it a listen and leave a review!

All the way back in 2008, @Kianis would bring us a game with a simple objective. Get to the end of the level and burn the rope to defeat the Grinning Colossus. Upon winning, you’re treated to one of the greatest credits songs on Newgrounds by @Reachground. It is one of Newgrounds biggest games to never win a Portal award and to be a part of Flash Portal History 2008. If you haven’t played this classic, it is an absolute must!

@Jackho has started the Newgrounds Reading Challenge once again. For this year’s challenge, The Tank Tribune will be featuring book recommendations and reviews from the members of this challenge. This week’s book comes from @TecNoir. His girlfriend got him books on historical figures. The first one he read is The Life and Times of King Arthur by Mike Ashley.

The week can get people down sometimes. With all of the hustle and bustle and action packed drama that entails our lives, sometimes it's nice to just kickback and relax. This week we’re taking a look at some pixel games from the past. Some of these are pretty dark, so bear that in mind when you decide to play them.

So... I got drunk last night. Which came into affect after Rex left thankfully. I don't remember much about the later half of that night, my friends are going to have to recap me on that. I drank some heavy whiskey, I remember that. Thankfully I'm not one to get hangovers, therefore I was able to get this paper out to you this morning.
