Good Morning Newgrounds! Welcome back to The Tank Tribune! There have been some small changes to the paper, and I intend to fill the gap left behind after the closing of the General forum. Tom brought up the slow loading times on the site. The problem has been found, the solution is still being worked on. If you have knowledge on this subject, then reply in this thread. Also let's give a big shoutout to @BrentHeMan, @PsychoGoldfish, and @liljim for all the hard work they do behind the scenes on Newgrounds. Tom may be our lord and savior, but without his fellow deities the church would crumble. We have a lot going on last week. This morning's Phonograph is your standard Phonograph, but it is also a celebration of the Newgrounds Audio Portal, closing with the Newgrounds Audio Portal 20th Anniversary Collaboration! Pico Day is coming up and there are contests abundant! A poetry contest! The Flash Forward Jam deadline. The 10th Anniversary of the Art-Inspired Music Contest. Flash Forward Jam 2023

This year's Flash Forward Jam has been going on since January. The deadline was extended by the end of the day April 20th. If you haven't put your finishing touches on your entry, now is the time to do so. If you're a masochist and want to crank something out fast, you have until Thursday to do so. Don't forget to tag your submission “Flash-Forward-2023”.

Pico Day

Pico Day is coming around the corner soon, on May 6th. If you haven't started on your Pico Day entry, now would be the time. There are prizes for movies, games, music, and art. There is now a writing contest for Pico Day as well hosted by @DannyGoodShirt. The deadline for the writing contest is May 5th.

Spoken Word Poetry Collab!

@Flamadour, who you may remember from one of the issue's Phonographs, is hosting an Audio Portal collab. The goal of the collaboration is for you to write a poem and then record yourself reading it or team up with a voice actor to read it for you. The theme is "The reality you to see and manifest in the world". If you're a musician, there are openings to supply background music over each poem. There is currently no deadline announced, the target though is early May.

RULES

• Word limit is 500 or less.
• Keep it SFW as we want to have this Collab featured/front paged
• Ideally your submissions will be in .WAV format at 16bit for high quality. And sent via Drop Box or NG file dump (depending upon file size)

@Karlestonchew, winner of the 2020 Music-Inspired Art Contest, is hosting the Pico-Cross Collab alongside @Supersam111. It is an art collab where artists where your works will be the tiles in a game of picross! If you want to know more, check out last year's collab below!

RULES

• Art theme this year is anything Newgrounds related.
• Entries should be up to T-rated.
• No exact resolution requirement other than make the aspect ratio 1:1, in other words make the image a square. 
• PNG format.
• All mediums welcome, as long as it can be shown in a square PNG go for it!
• Complete art by May 4th.

If you're interested in joining, simply leave a comment with your art portfolio in the news post linked above. The deadline for applications is April 28th. The deadline for completed art is May 4th, Star Wars Day.

Art-Inspired Music Contest 2023

@Random-storykeeper is back again to host this year's AIM Contest! This is a contest that was originally started by @ThatJohnnyGuy and is celebrating its 10 Year Anniversary! Full list of rules are in the news post above, but as a primer. You can't start work on your entry yet. This is preparation time. The contest will begin officially when Random-storykeeper posts the contest thread in the Audio Forum on April 21st. The deadline for the contest will be June 19th.

There are openings for judges and volunteers. You can start browsing the Art Portal for inspiration. It's also a good time to contact the author about using their piece for the contest.

@Dry has hosted the SUMMER COLLAB ALBUM! back in August 2022. He's back again hosting a Pico Day collab. If you want to join, just fill out an application to join. The deadline is May 5th. If you decided to join and don't produce your song, then you won't be allowed to participate next year.

RULES

1. There is a 1:30 minimum for songs.
2. Shitposts are okay as long as they sound good.
3. No covers of songs (lol!)
4. I don't care what you do just don't make it too explicit or whatever (how would you even do that)
5. You have until May 5th to finish your song.
6. You can start as soon as you're given the link to the server.
7. DO NOT POST YOUR SONG UNTIL AFTER THE ALBUM HAS DROPPED.

Rage Quit Released

@DJVI and @Zoftle recently collaborated on a song entitled Rage Quit. A melodic dubstep track that has catchy beats and fantastic drops. You can play it on Geometry Dash now! The ID is 1207686.

New Sublo and Tangy Mustard Episode Coming Soon

@Aaron-Long has been in production of the 3rd episode of Season 3. The title is "Nightclub". It is going to be the largest episode yet. You can see a sneak peek of a scene on his Patreon. He's been working on new songs for the series. Those on his Patreon will get early access to the soundtrack for Season 1 and 2 as well as songs from Season 3.

Back in 2009, @GregoryWeir would grace Newgrounds with How to Raise a Dragon. A platformer with a great story, knowledge on dragons, with customizable aspects for your dragon and how you wish to tell the story. Will your dragon be a tyrannical monster? Will do good for the people? Will it serve nature and have a disdain for humans? There are so many options to choose from. It's a great replay time and time again.

As you may have noticed, this product is still a bit under construction. After my hospital escapades and some bullshit at work, recovery from my hospital trip has taken longer than I would have hoped. I am doing better now and was able to finish this paper. I have a lot of projects that I am working on, and besides this paper, last week has been a waste in terms of working on projects. it is time to make that push towards getting everything done that is still open.
