Good Morning Newgrounds! I hope you all had a fantastic twosday last week. While I was working on this issue as I'm sure you have heard and seen by now, Russia has invaded the Ukraine. Now I try to keep politics out of this paper since it not only serves as a catch-up on Newgrounds, but as a way to escape from reality. Unfortunately though I need to bring this to attention, because for the United States of America where Newgrounds is based at, we are having a problem that I will address in the General News section. Legislation is trying to be snuck through that could affect not only Newgrounds, but a lot of your favorite sites as well. There has been a lot going on Newgrounds recently. With the series X-RL7, Chaotic Heart, and Solace. Two scary collabs, one being Resident Evil 2 and the other being Newgrounds Creepypasta. Fro having trouble with Twitter and reminiscing about his days as an Uber driver. Wegra has popped back up in the Tribune. The EARNIT Act Is a Threat to Online Privacy, Encryption, AND (Ironically) Children Safety
@Enigma2Me has brought something to our attention. A new bill that was proposed and shelved back in 2020 has resurfaced with new additions that could threaten a lot of the Internet including Newgrounds. Here's a short description from Enigma2Me below.
It's an online censorship and mass surveillance act that was introduced 2 years ago by Senator Blumenthal and Graham, and is supposedly about protecting children online dealing with material that is deemed “unsafe for children”. But various online privacy groups and human rights groups such as the ACLU and Fight For the Future have noted that it not only doesn't protect children, it actually makes them LESS safe while being heavily aimed at attacking encryption. This was bad enough at the time in 2020 that it was fiercely rejected and was essentially shelved. But now it’s been re-introduced, and as far as we can tell, with no improvements or changes (it’s actually even WORSE this time around). No doubt hoping to take advantage of people's complacency and other current hot topics as a distraction to push it through under the radar.
We need to take a stand against this as soon as possible. The quicker the better. Follow the link to the thread to learn more. There are notes about how to put a stop to this.

February News and Announcements!
A lot has happened during the month of February. Here are some highlights from the news from Tom.
The /tilt/ - Competition Results were announced. /tilt/ was created by @brin-o and @Droqen, with music by @ComposerEvans. The top 3 of the 13 found some exploits and bugs that they told the creators. They are @Gytbug, @FinnOrFelicity, @an-original-Joke. If you haven't played /tilt/ yet now is a good time!
The Flash Forward Jam
The deadline for the Flash Forward Jam has been extended to March 13th to March 27th. Some may need this extension, if you're one of them then please let Tom know. If enough people need more time, then more may be provided.
MessyPaints February Challenge
The theme for the MessyPaints challenge this month is to paint Q and Elena from Street Fighter. The deadline is March 1st, that's next week! @DoctorGrambo started this challenge earlier this year. He was a Featured Artist in Issue NO. 41 of The Tank Tribune.
Resident Evil 2 Reanimated Collab
@BadTwinZ started a reanimated collab for Resident Evil 2 back in December 2021. There are still 20 scenes left to animate. The deadline has been extended to March 31st. BadTwinZ lead the Resident Evil REANIMATED Collab for the first game if you're an animator if you want to know what the collab may be like.
Creepypasta Collab
@squide, @TechoCookie, and @NewGroundDan are starting a collaboration for Creepypasta. All Portals are open to participation. There are some rules to the collab. @CrockettDK, an artist and musician here on Newgrounds has shown interest in the collab. @chitstain has offered his voice acting talents to the collab as well. He participated in the 2021 Newgrounds Voice Acting Collaboration. @LilSpook has thrown their name in the ring. They participated in Piconjomas Party 2021. If you an artist, animator, voice actor, musician, and/or game developer then join in the spookiness.

We start the week off the same as last week with @KevinTemmer picking up his fourth Daily Feature for I've Had a Dream for Quite Some Time. He was here in the previous issue for You're Going to the Shadow Realm, Jimbo. @EtherealSnake picks up their second Daily Feature for Jesus' Betrayal : What Really Went Down. EtherealSnake's first Daily Feature was for - Mickey's Descent Into Madness - back in June 2021. @WiredDreamsStudio recently joined the site this month and have released their upcoming game that you can wishlist on Steam entitled Undergrave, which has won them their first Daily Feature. Lucky Shart has been the collaboration of @Joe-Mega, which has won him his ninth Daily Feature, @DaemonPlus, which has won them their second Daily Feature, and @Potatoman, which has won him his fifteenth Daily Feature. @PringusMcDingus has picked up his nineteenth Daily Feature for Where was Daisy in the Mario Strikers Battle League Trailer?. He's come a long way since his first movie and first Daily Feature win Hi, I'm Daisy. @Jaba992 has won his fifth Daily Feature for You've gotta get your BUTT in gear.. His previous win was for Mark Zuckerberg dies in the Metaverse.. To close off the week we have X-RL7 - Episode 18 - V-CHAN winning @X-RL7 winning their first Daily Feature! We have featured the series back in Issue NO. 018 of the Tribune with the release of Episode 7 - Devine Intervention. Nice to see the series come so far. @TrinaTan also picked up her fifth Daily Feature for voice acting in this episode.
Here are the Top 5 Best Songs from the week of February 20th, 2022 - February 26th, 2022. Coming in at number five is D u m b V a p o r w a v e [Remix] by @Dieswyx. It is a remix of a collaboration he did in the past with @NoStereo, @RealMrSnuggles, and @Wilieu, entitled [MEGACOLLAB] ｄｕｍｂ ｖａｐｏｒｗａｖｅ. At number four goes to @milkypossum for Glass Floor (HARCORE REMIX - Olive's Art-Venture), a remix of their own song from Olive's Art-Venture Full OST, which has won multiple awards on Newgrounds, including the Daily 2nd Place, Weekly 3rd Place, Best Game of January, and Best Game of Pixel Day 2022. The third best track of Newgrounds this week goes to @HEXebyte for her Dubstep song Spectral Hexes and Melodic Alchemy. The last time she has posted was November 2021. She has some newer stuff in the works so give her a Follow to keep up to date. Coming in at number two is Revolta by @TrialCore. A quieter user on the site since 2015. He wants his music to be used in video games and series on Newgrounds. If you're working on something, take a look at his works. And the number one song on Newgrounds last week is Xtrullor - 22 by @Xtrullor. A track made for 222bpm in 2/2, to celebrate Twosday! The length of the song is also 2:22.

CHAPTER 1 Release! | Nothing Unusual
@TweenAnimations1 has a release date for Chapter 1 of a new series, Nothing Unusual. The second trailer debuted back in October 2021. The release date is March 19, 2022! Below is a synopsis of the series from TweenAnimations1.
"In Japan, Rokurokubi are known to be like Vampires. They're known to be dangerous Yōkais for committing horrible deeds. Except for one. Asumi Mayako -- Born a Rokurokubi, now lives a normal life with Karita Dere. Karita takes her time to take care of Asumi ever since that mysterious night where Asumi was found inside a trash can. Asumi has her moments where she's feeling worried about how people feel about her as a Rokurokubi."
What's better than one maniac?
@ZeroDigitZ has released his new game earlier this month entitled Two Maniacs Chapter 1. It is a supernatural horror game. The premise is the town Rock Hill is under lockdown due to a serial killer. You can play between two characters. Arlo a detective who is after the serial killer, and Tess, a young woman looking for her friend after she fears she may be in danger. The music is made by ZeroDigitZ with one track being in the Phonograph this morning. If you haven't played it yet, now is the time!

Smugglers of Ambektra Progress
@W-P-S has been a bit silent on Newgrounds as of late. He's given us an update on his newest project. Smugglers of Ambektra. Here is a short synopsis below.
It's going to be an Africa-themed sci-fi adventure. Two smugglers, Nasbid and Leopold, try and smuggle booze and porn into a military junta, and have to cross hostile deserts and jungles to get there. DANGER, PERIL AND ADVENTURE AWAITS
It may take a few years to finish. The wait will be worth it though. W-P-S music video, Juh Jee Juh Boo Boo, won Best Animated Short at the 2021 Boobs and Blood Festival in Hollywood. Congratulations to W-P-S!
New Job!
@Buster98 got a new job as a storyboard revisionist. He's been working on a new cartoon, which may be delayed due to working full time now. One of his goals is to become an independent creator and live off his own work. He wants to make cartoons that people like and make them often. Looking for Animator for a music video
@Ketyri is a musician looking for an animator to make a music video for their song Domestic [2022 Mix]. It is pretty open ended for the animator. It is a paying job, Ketyri is on a budget though, but is willing to pay artists for their works. There is more information on their post in the Collabinator.

Season 2 of Chaotic Hearts should be debuting this Summer, so mark your calendars. The next episode of Solace is in the works is looking to be released sometime in March! Back in 2009, Tom Fulp announced an idea, called the Power of Three. It was a summer event where a teams of three would collaborate to make a game. A programmer, an artist, and a musician. One such game that came out of this was Toss the Turtle. With programmer @Foreverkul, artist @Gonzossm, and musician @MaestroRage. It was an idea that brought a lot of great games to the site, but Toss the Turtle became a phenomenon on Newgrounds and beyond. It won a Daily Feature and Weekly 1st Place for its creators. It now has a life outside of Newgrounds under the name Super Toss the Turtle on mobile!

Daily Diary of an Uber Driver
Before the Father of Forums @Fro was a professional weightlifting champion of the universe, he was an Uber Driver. He recounts his tales in the Writing Forum. One as a writing exercise, and two to make some extra money.
"This was one of my attempts of trying to write something small every day. It was a lot of fun while it lasted. I knew it would eventually get repetitive and that I would eventually need to cut out customers because of the repetitive nature of most of the rides. The reason I stopped writing was because I stopped driving. The reason I stopped driving was because I had reached a financial goal and it was starting to get stressful.
Basically I had taken up driving Uber as a second job to help pay for our moving expenses. We moved across country, east coast to west coast. It took quite a bit of my savings away and I needed help catching back up. So I drove Uber for a bit. I had forgot that there was a sign up bonus when I first started. You were guaranteed to make a certain amount in your first 100 trips. If you didn’t make that amount you got the difference in a lump sum after your 100th trip.
After a bad day of driving, a few short trips, not a lot of riders in the night, and witnessing multiple car accidents while driving I was basically an emotional wreck. I had just witnessed a man get hit while riding a motorcycle. The car that hit him sped off and the cars behind him literally beeped for the man to hurry up and get off of the ground out of their way.
It was very disturbing…
Then that lump sum hit. It was substantial. I think $700 give or take a little. I retired from driving Uber on the spot and went home. I don’t think I would do it again."

I finally have my organizational system setup the way I want it. It has taken a number of years to be able to juggle multiple projects, but I figured it out. Last week @Timmy commented on the work that goes into the Tribune. Perhaps I should make a special behind the scenes post about how I put together this paper. Food for thought. All I know is that I could benefit through a Writing Portal here on Newgrounds. At least more characters to work with in the news post. If these issues keep being this big, I don't want to split it into two parts if I don't have to. I am happy to bring you the news every Monday morning on Newgrounds! Thank you for reading!
