Good Morning Newgrounds! My vacation at my day job is over and now it's back to the grind! Pixel Day has come and gone with tons of entries celebrating its 6th Year here on Newgrounds. The Flash Forward Jam deadline has been extended to the end of February. We have a lot of new users, many who are artists to welcome. Two famous Newgrounds animators were named User of the Day and a whole lot more. Without further ado, here are the hip happenings of Newgrounds last week.

Pixel Day 2021 happened over the weekend! A day to celebrate pixel art, movies, games, and chiptunes. The day was the idea of @JohnnyGuy and we've been celebrating it for it's sixth year now. If you want to see the entries for this year then click here!

If you're entry for the Flash Forward Jam isn't done yet then don't despair, the deadline has been moved to February 28th. If you're having trouble or just now got a great idea for it, then you have more time to work on it.

The point of this story is to just try everything, you never know what might stick and what you can do or contribute to the site. From the creative contributions to the viewers and gamers. He is truly Newgrounds best pigeon.

21+ years on and this site is still legitimately the top place on the internet I can think of to find genuine, quality content made by animators, musicians, game designers and artists of all walks of life, with no discrimination by the algorithms or even the staff team. And the community is really great too, even the shitposters are funny. And y'all are so supportive and friendly to each other, it is legit unmatched by like 99% of other online communities I've come across. I'm probably just biased and all, but the sheer absence of toxicity here is something else.
I hope one day I can develop the skills to put up something of genuine quality on here too. Especially today, communities like Newgrounds need all the support they can get.

In celebration of the recent Pixel Day, The Tank Tribune is looking back at one of Newgrounds most popular sprite movie series, Super Mario Bros. Z by @Alvin-Earthworm. He was mainly inspired by the other sprite animators on Newgrounds and wanted to give it a try, with Randy Solem being an influence. The week can get people down sometimes. With all of the hustle and bustle and action packed drama that entails our lives, sometimes it's nice to just kickback and relax. Here are a few games to play to unwind on this Monday Morning.
There will be some changes to the paper come next week. For the history of Newgrounds it is going to be bunched together into its own section going forward. As noted the podcasts will be interchanged, The Newgrounds Podcast will take the priority, but other podcasts shall be featured as well. With that said, I hope you all have a fantastic morning!
